The End of Time

I think the ..end of time...thingy is a reference by most people to the end of the human race as apb may have pointed out....I think the planet will still support life for a long time after the human race can no longer survive....In actuality we may have already gone past the point where we can survive...humans are the only creature that I know that have to use artificial means to survive ...we have to wear clothes and build heated shelters in order to not die from exposure..... unlike all other animals that I know of.

If the earth has been turning in the same direction on its axis for millions of years, what could possibly be the purpose for it to suddenly turn in the opposite direction? Scientists have already discovered that dying stars are sucked into the black hole; they also say that the black hole appears to be a magnetic field. I guess that makes it a type of cemetery for dead stars.

What puzzles me is why people would believe that it has taken tens of millions of years for the sun, earth, and black hole to align for the FIRST time. When God gets ready to bring the world to an end, He won't have to wait for 12-21-2012 or just the right planet alignment before he throws the stars and planets to the ground, rains down fire and brimstone, melts the earth and declares the end of time.

What was the position of the sun, earth, and milky way's black hole when God rained down fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah and was there a polar shift when it was all over?

You can believe that, on 12-22-2012, the earth will still be turning in the same direction and astrologists, scientists, and alarmists will once again look like a bunch of fools.

The scientific world is constantly updating their ideas on the history of the planet...I have seen a documentary on the magnetic shift of the earth and it seems that it has happened a time or two since man has been using fire..seems like they can measure that in the old fire pits they have dug up...all the "alignments" these guys have been preaching about since we all have been big enough to read haven't seemed to put an end to us yet... and I doubt the next one will either...

Bug, scientists agreeing with the end of the world in 2012?? Can you point me to some sources? I have seen nothing on that in any of the science journals that I have read. I'm sure there are some pseudo-scientists or conspiracy theorists that may believe such nonsense, but legitimate scientists, not so much. To paraphrase a quote I saw elsewhere on conspiracy theorists and pseudo-scientists, they have as tight a grip on reality as a colon full of Mexican tap water.

Hlleonard, magnetic shifts do happen as you suggest and can be measured. Archae-magnetic dating usings those reversals and shifts to date fire hardened clay from fires.

I personally don't believe that an atheist is a bad person because he doesn't believe in God. I do believe that he has the right to change his mind. I think that one second after he dies, he will believe there really is a God and may discover that it's too late to make a "U" turn.

I have friends who are atheist or agnostics and they are wonderful people. I don't appreciate them calling Christians superstitious or making fun of them. My faith is based on my belief in a Supreme Being, God. I avoid discussions about their beliefs because it might cause hurt feelings for someone and could possibly cause them not to explore other possibilities. jmo

Bug, reference your statement: "What puzzles me is why people would believe that it has taken tens of millions of years for the sun, earth, and black hole to align for the FIRST time", the answer is that it doesn't take millions of years, IT HAPPENS EVERY 25,800 YEARS or there abouts. Beside, Pole Shift has to do with the North and South Poles shifting position, not with the rotation of the Earth reversing.

Andrew: Do a Google search for "Pole Shift 2012" or "Polar Shift 2012", then take your pick.

Folks that believe as you do have told me in the past that at the end everybody will change their mind as to the existence of their god.... not sure what that opinion is based on... As far as religions being superstitions, If you are in the ranks of the people who do not believe then I don't know what other category they could put it in.... anything in the supernatural world (so to speak) such as voodoo, witch craft or any of the "black arts" all are in the same ballpark.... As for the pushing contest between the believers and the non-believers,I suspect the non-believers get a lot more dirt thrown their way by the believers than they throw back.....

The History Channel video points out the same possibility but as a PPROBABILITY. They further explain that the 666 "Sign of the Beast" was the numeolical evuivelent of Nero's name.

The vidio presented 13 differnet entities that predict(ed) the doom and gloom of the end of time but only three of the 13 actaully specifically point to Decebmer 21, 2012. (The Mayans, the Cjhinese I-Ching, and the "Pole Shift" aleignment.)

I agree that according to Biblical Revelations, 12/21/2012 could not be the end of time, mainly because too many of the requirements cited in Revelations could't happen in the ttwo years time remaining.

The numbers can't possibly be the number of Nero's name for two reasons. The first is that Nero died in AD64 when he was 37 years old and won't be ruling the world at any time. The second is according to the above verse of scripture, it is the number of a MAN whose name has yet to be revealed.

Having read this, with the end coming, I'm going to buy a brand new Trophy 2002 Walk Around with a 200 Honda, and sonar and a GPS and great trolling motor. I'm putting no money down and financing it for 15 years.

If it all ends in 2 years, think how much I'm going to save on interest!

I love these discussions until somebody gets an eye put out...lol..BB,I believe revelations was written somewhere in the AD 90s and it is believed by some that John was writing about the antichrish as being the return of Nero...and I think the number 666 is a reference to their language in some way as referring to Neros name..
