first let me say, I have the lowrance structure scan on my boat. and had my motor to blow. right after I bought the lowrance unit. so I haven't used it much. and haven't seen any fish on mine. but I found some pictures of fish on another site. and now my hopes are very high, in my structure scan unit. got my motor fixed and can't wait for the weather to fair up a little. I don't know if this will work or not. but I will try. I really like the way this structure scan shows fish. click on the link below. I hope it works. I tried to put an address up you could click on but it wouldn't work. sorry
if you want to check this out you will have to google the address below.

I'm with others. No I don't need to google it cause I know their reputation. Good luck.
Threadjacking aside--WOW. Those images are amazing, almost unfair???
i herd they are getting sued for using the side scan becouse it was a trade mark that they didnt have the rights to use. maybe this is why B.A.S.S. droped lowrance and picked up humminbird as a sponser and humminbird is using K.V.D on their adds. and he was a big lowrance guy last year.
why did lowrance ss-1 come out on the market with DOWNSCAN on november 23rd and then in late january humminbird came out with a "update to their unit to give the downscan option??? then in febuary claim copywright infrindgement on lowrance???
maybe its cause the lowrance blew them out of the water and they are making millions of dollors ???
its all about the money! now if they put their heads togeather an come up with something inovative to catch our attension an better both products the fisherman is the one who will bennefit rather han argue who made it first right?
I'm glad you googled the pictures, thats what I wanted every one to do. I don't belive any fishfinder can do a better job. in the pictures, you can even see the way the fish's heads are turned. it looks like a school of smallmouths to me. I don't care who makes the fishfinder, I'm just glad theirs one on the market, that will show a fish, that looks just like a fish. and not a big red or blue ARCH. ps... even if you don't like lowrance, just take a minute and look at the pictures, the guy took of those fish. I have never seen any fishfinder id a fish like that. check it out, google the site below.

Agree, no real point in brand bashing. I have th HB side image. I chose it for the side image features. Gives a 400+ foot wide view under the boat and to the sides. I have had mine since Nov and have used it some. Have spotted schools of bait fish in water collum, detailed structure. Recently added the down image software but have not used it yet.
Do the Lowrance units have a very wide side image view? My previous unit was a Lowrance and it was a good one, however, dated now.
I have seen a lot of images on the Web taken with both the HB and Lowrance units, but what really impresses me are the images that I get on my unit.
Seeing how I have already purchased mine I will be very happy with it. I am sure you will be very happy with yours. These newer units are quite amazing compared to the older graph style chart units and are a great upgrade no matter what brand you choose.
I bought a Lowrance LMS350A in 1995 and never had any trouble with it. (14 Yrs).
Replaced it last spring because I wanted a new one. I went with the Lowrance HDS-7 and will be adding the new structure scan this spring.
They are right it's all about the money on TV and celeb's using the products.
Some companies just don't need to pay someone to flaunt their products.
the lowrance structure scan, has a side range of 240 feet on either side. and should definitely work, as far as anyone can cast a lure. Donky, I've not used mine very much, what i have used it. has been the down scan mostly. I had motor trouble right after geting the lowrance unit. I've got it all fixed now, just need some warmer weather. but my structure scan, hasn't ID any fish. the way i had hoped it would. but after seeing the fish, in the picture that guy took. I'm looking forward to using mine .Agree, no real point in brand bashing. I have th HB side image. I chose it for the side image features. Gives a 400+ foot wide view under the boat and to the sides. i have the humminbird 1197si and it is awsome. and i looked at the pics of the lowrance side scan and they are both the same thing. im sure lowrance is a good unit and it is ones preference. mine is humminbird becouse i have only had good things from them. and i know people who have had lowrance and have had alot of proublems with the unit and the customer service. i dont care wich one someone buys but i like the humminbird and the customer service they have and how easy it is to download new updates to you unit. just my two cents.
