Out here in Oldham again to. This has been the winter from Hell. I'm starting to think we have re-started the frickin Ice Age. I'm waiting to see a Wooly Mammouth and Saber Tooth Tiger in my backyard.

Where is Al Gore anyway, I've never seen a man hide so well.
Philly is expecting another 12'' plus today, can you guys imagine the spike in that Ohio river this spring when all that East Coast crap starts melting and the spring rains come, Wow????

Heard talk of him being on trial for his farce! Alright it was prolly just a joke from Glenn Beck but dang boys chalk another one up to Al Gore! He knows how to make money. Wonder if he went to Purdue like another fella who use to post on here that had all the facts on Global Warming...er I mean Climate Change...can't use Global Warming anymore because it implies uh well global warming?? LOL!!

You know that won't happen. Every year that there are a lot of closings, the school systems find all these "creative" ways to make up the time and still get out right at the start of June.

I.e. - they start school 7 mins earlier, cancel the early release days, etc., etc. and suddenly they make up 14 days like nothing.

And if they can't do that, they go to the state government and ask to not have to make up the days like many schools last year.

There are too many people who would be in an uproar if they go much past June 1 and would claim they have vacation plans they can't cancel.

I shouldn't get started on public schools and the shameful mess they've become. They are just another example of our government gone wrong.

Someone explain why Oldham Co is out of school for less than an inch of snow. Why not put them on a two hour delay. The roads are fine out there and it is rediculous that it and others are closed for this dusting!

I agree. We had about a good solid inch here at my house and most of the roads were just fine. Highway 329 was a bit slick but not to awful bad. You are right Rod should have been a two hour delay and call it good.

NWS in Louisville reported 2.2 inches officially. We are up to 24 inches plus for the year now, and we have had way more than that out here in Oldham. What a winter, Shoooo.

I don't know much about the roads in Oldham County. I try and stay away from any county that would accept Mark Hall as a resident LOL! Here in bullitt County it doesn't take much snow for them to cancel school. While the main county roads and the interstate may be fine, there are a lot of country roads that a school bus should not be on if there is any snow. Plus, a lot of kids live up on 44 hill and Brooks hill and those places get slick pretty fast.

I've often wondered why some districts seem to always pull the trigger on closing school because of a dusting. I've wondered if it maybe wasn't because of possible lawsuits if a child were to slip on the ice on school grounds. You know certain people are out there just looking for an excuse to file a lawsuit and will use their own kids to do so. Sad but true.

    Just a thought.

Now Tim where's the love brother???? Other than a short 6 months residency in Michigan I have lived in Oldham County all my life. Born and raised here. Was born at Mallory Taylor Hospital in LaGrange in 1962, an old Bedford Stone building that is still there but hasn't been a hospital in many years. Grew up in Crestwood, home of Kevin Worth by the way.

I didn't think Bullitt County had roads Tim, I thought it was just trails made through the Woods.
