    johnking82 fishing tackle donation...

First to admit that I don't have a clue who johnking82 is and he does not know that I am posting this and may not like it but I hope not.

Wrong time of the year for a man to have all of his fishing tackle stolen!!

I am going to go in the garage and look thru my stuff - LORD KNOWS I HAVE ENOUGH - and am going to put together some stuff and give it to johnking82 if he wants it. I know I have 1 6 1/2 Medium Action Bass Pro Shop spinning rod and Quantum spinning reel that is not the top of the line but not junk either. It was the first one I bought myself when I got my boat and works well. Also going to go thru my tackle to donate some stuff and I am pretty sure I have a soft side tackle box that holds 8 planos and other stuff that is in excellent shape to help a man get back at it. I know I have some tackle as well to give. I live in Frankfort off exit 48 and would be willing to make a day of it and meet some fellas in Lexington if they want to donate and will take it to the man in the Louisville area, again if he wants it.

Just trying to give back a little. I know there are others here that will do the same.

If by chance he does not want anything, then whatever I get I will get in touch with I think it is Eddie Goode, Casting for Kids, (that is probably wrong and if so help me out). Either way a good cause.

My Dad gave me a small garbage bag full of plastics when he sold his place in Tenn (Douglas Lake) last year. Just sittin in the garage collecting dust. Would be more than happy to donate these to the young man. I too had some creek tackle stolen in the late eighties. I had fished the Elkhorn, got home late, and left my stuff in my truck. When I came out the next morning my window was broken and all my creek tackle was gone.

Anyways, contact me and I'll be more than happy to donate. Probably 50 to 75 bags of plastics maybe more. Also, got 20-30 crankbaits I will give as well.

    Let me know.

Guys, I truly do appreciate it. I called a few fellas on craiglist last night who buy fishing stuff and from one fisherman to another, they were pretty understanding and going to look out for my stuff. They knew by my speak and tone I wasn't some dude trying to con them.

I'm doing my best to find some sort of positive light (I'm a counselor, its my job I guess) in this situation but it's pretty tough. What really ticks me off is I buy most of my jigs, shakeyheads, and plastics from online smallboy tackle companies...I like to support them instead of BPS or tackle warehouse...and the amount of time I spent trying to find the best baits for me just really bugs me that is is now taken for granted. I take fishing as serious as anyone on this site and its just like it got ripped off of me. If you want to send me an email, just send it to [email protected] (those are zeros). I also working in the teacher education program at UL, so if you or your children ever want to become teachers...send them to me.

I appreciate you offers, it is my nature to hate taking "handouts"..I don't know if its a prdie thing or what, but right now I'm down and out and would take anything I could get. All I know is there was a DT10 Rapala in crankbait color left on the basement floor...so that an a few package of old prowler baits is what I have.

    Re: johnking82 fishing tackle donation...

When I first started fishing competitively it was the kindness of the guys on this board that allowed me to do so thru donations for me and my kids. I would be honored to help in anyway I can. I know I have a Ardent Flip-n-pitch with a nice Castaway rod that would work well with those plastics I can donate to him if he wants it. I will look thru my other stuff and see what else I can get together for this as well. Let me know where/when the collection will take place and I will find a way to get it to you Elnut.

Special thanks to you Elnut for taking the time to help a young man (especially seeing he has a new bride in the wings, so you know money is not flowing as we have all been there at least once before ourselves...lol) in need. You know your involvement will garner as much support as anyones, if not more, so let us know brother!!

Let me know when and where and I will gladly help a fellow fisherman out. I have more than I will ever fish with as far as plastics go. I work in Winchester so I could meet up with Elnut if he makes the Lexington round-up. Keep us informed!!

Insurance people told me to print out a list on everything I owned and the price. Funny, I just re-organized my tacklebox a week ago before my Dale Hollow tournament so I know exactly what was in there.

The fiance called...they stole her set of skiis as well (she's an east coaster).
