Anybody have any extra LUCK they don't want..

Since it seems like I get all the bad luck just wondering if anyone has any GOOD LUCK that they don't need and would pass it my way. Everyone knows of my medical issues and they just keep on coming. Been hoping to go fishing this past weekend for my only trip to KY Lake this year. Saving all year long and hoping I would heal up from the surgery well enough. All was going well and looked like I would get 5 days at KY Lake in Prime Time fish catching action but then.. a week ago I get out of bed and go to the bathroom for the morning leakage. After I get done I pass out and hit the vanity and then the floor. Luckily my wife was home and heard me come crashing down. She found me passed out on the bathroom floor and got me to a sitting position but said I was out cold for over 4 minutes. We go to UK hospital and they do all kinds of test and rule out stroke, heart issues, clots and other stuff and says it is Vasovagal. What, it is a diseas that men get over the age of 40 where their blood pressure drops, ESPECIALLY during that morning leakage and the blood does not get from the legs back to the heart and you pass out. Bruised ribs, knot on my head and twisted knee but I was deteremined to go to KY Lake and fish. Get everything ready, new line in 6 rods, boat ready leave out Saturday afternoon, get on North Barkley for a couple of hours before the sun goes down. I catch 28 with 8 keepers and my buddy caught 8 with 2 keepers. The hook setting bending and other stuff was miserable. The ride back to Poplar Creek into the wind and small waves was MISERABLE. I could not breath because my ribs were hurting me so bad. Knew I should not have went but when a man has been thru what I have been thru Fishing is about the only thing I can do to feel normal. Got the boat on the trailer, turned her around and drove back home. 4 hours down, 90 minutes on the water, 4 hours back and the fish were jumping into the boat. 4lb Smallie on the first cast, 2 1/2 lb Spotted Bass on the 3rd cast and 4lb Largemouth on the 5th cast, trifecta of keepers in the first 5 cast and my buddy was still trying to hook his lizard. Horrible Luck is all I can say. I recovered from the surgery well did everything I could do, saved every penny to get to go and then Vasovagal takes it all away. Sitting here about as depressed as one man can get. Does anyone have any Good Luck that they could spare because I sure could use a tad bit?

The only good of the trip was that we stopped by and seen David Hayes on the way down and my buddy Mike got to meet him plus I got one of my pictures that my wife took a few weeks back when I met him for the first time autographed. I now have an 8 1/2 x 11 Glossy of Mr. Hayes holding the record Smallie autographed and framed on my wall. Still a Class Act Mr Hayes.

Elnut, I don't have any luck but I will share the prayer I use every day to start my day:

God help me to remember that nothing can happen today that You and I together can't handle.

Elnut, I have known for a long time that God won’t give me anything that I can’t handle WITH HIS HELP, but it is REMEMBERING THAT that I have trouble with and that is why I stress the HELP ME TO REMEMBER part of the prayer. Since I have been saying this prayer, I remember to ask for His help much faster than I used to and, guess what, He helps me much faster than he used to. Try it.

He has a special plan for your life or you would have been gone a long time ago.

Sending up lots of prayers that touch the heart of God for compassion and healing for you. My friend, I don't think "good luck" has anything to do with it; your healing miracle is all arranged by God's deliberate and divine plan. He has a miracle with your name on it.

First to admit that my faith is going away as well. I was baptized in January of 2009 but have not been to church since December and the more problems I have the farther away from God I get. I hear over and over and over and over that God does not put on us more than we can handle and that there is a reason for all of this and the path that I travel was there long before I was and..... very hard to keep the faith up when everytime you turn around you are in the hospital. What many don't know is that I have been going to UK EVERY WEEK for the past 7 weeks for an Endoscopy procedure. My small intestine has collapsed and they are ballooning up the area in hopes that it will stay open and I can eat food again instead of using my feeding tube. Stated out they could not even get the scope down then got it to 9, 11, 13 1/2 and 15 is the latest size of the opening. Moved it to every other week and next one is on the 28th. They have to give me so much anesthesia for a simple outpatient procedure that I have not slept ANY Thursday night, Friday or Saturday for the past 6 weeks. Completely awake and miserable by Saturday night / sunday whenever I do actually sleep. Not a way for a man to go thru life. There are times that I wish my health problems were terminal and I knew there was an end in sight because it would be easier to deal with mentally. All of this over and over stuff that I go thru *****. My wife sees what I go thru daily and she deals with medical records and sick people thru the Disability Office daily and has seen very few people in her 9 years there that have gone thru what I go thru. Not asking for sympathy just venting a bit and wish it was all over, one way or another.

Except for attending marriages or funerals, I have not been inside a church since about 1963. In my opinion faith, baptism, religion and church are not necessary for a belief in God. Actaully, I believe that religion and churches are a hinderence in becoming close to God, not a help. God is trying to teach you something, try to find out what it is.

Elnut, if I was fortunate enough to be a lucky person I would send you my good luck. I think I am the only Irish person that has bad luck. I am not sure how that happened. I have had alot of emotional and physical pain to last a lifetime but for some reason I seem to keep getting through each day. My faith has been tested many times over recent years. I have been very mad at God for not answering my prayers. I also stopped going to church for the past year. I know how tough it is to feel that you are the only one going through tough times. I think you are very strong. A real inspiration to me when my back is bad and goes out and life with my elderly demented mother is too much too handle. You are not alone in this fight. I hope it helps you to know that there are others out here that suffer also. I guess all we can do is have hope that God will finally answer our prayers. I will say a prayer for you and hope you say one for me. Lets keep the faith, brother!

God doesn't put bad things on His children. I, personally, believe it is wrong to blame God for the bad things that happen to us. Even things such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods are classified as "an act of God" when they are acts of nature.

If people say that God puts bad things on us, who do they credit with giving them good things? Evil and good cannot dwell together in God; He is either all evil or all good...Satan is the evil one and God is the one who is good.

Elnut, I know you are tired and weary from all that you have gone through but you are still waking up every morning seeing the faces of a precious child and a loving wife. Isn't that better than that them waking up without you and soaking your grave with their tears?

Way the **** past tired and weary. Pretty much fed up and disgusted are understatements. There is even something else that I was asked to get involved in and it will hinge on my health as to when or if I ever get to do it as well. Not at liberty to say what it is but a pretty big deal to me. But my motto has become "thats LIFE" and pretty much that is it in a nutshell. One good thing about getting beat and kicked around like I have is you pretty much get used to it and don't feel a thing. Sort of like frostbite, the fingers and toes burn, sting and hurt at first but when they get totally numb and all the pain goes away the better it is.

Elwood, I have seen alot of people I mean ALOT of people who rely on God and start down the path and the devil attacks trying to break your will - to turn your back and not believe anymore. Once he knows your not giving in and you put all his crap in Gods hands, and I mean truly turn it over to him then it eases. Because of you and the horrible crap your going thru, you have made alot of people pray, alot of people look towards God for your namesake and that is a blessing, hold on brother.......
