Good luck to you in Florida. Moving stinks but not when the move is a positive one. You and your family will be smiling. Arent there lots of alligators and swamps in Florida? I am sure the fishing will be excellent down there.

Got a move date of the weekend of the 14th!
I will be less than two miles from the Gulf of Mexico and cant wait!
Of course I will miss the river and fishing with the guys Ive had the chance to fish with here on the forum but the prospect of not having to deal with horrible allergies, icy roads, and LOOOONG winters kind of cheers me up a bit.
I am not however looking forward to the packing and the actually move, man its going to cost a fortune!

Hope you like your move. What area are you going to.
Jake
ah, sounds like the place for me...Or possibly to Arizona.....not sure which i'd rather live in......
Ive been saving up $ for a business, if that doesnt pan out, will live off of that until something comes up. My uncles neighbor can get me on a commercial fishing rig. Pay is decent but the work *****.
Wife graduates with her RN in a couple of weeks. Job market in L'ville for new grads is REALLY tough right now, partly influencing the move.
Of course Im watching this oil spill very closely, not looking good with strong winds from the south forecasted for the next several days and a failed attempt by the ROVs to stem the leak.
Man your leaving right when the river is gettin right Jason. Hated to hear about the oil rig, kinda uncanny it happens right after the pres. ok's offshore drilling HMMMM. Send us some pic's and keep us posted on how your doin..Chuck
Good luck Jason.
Chuck, man I am going to miss that river. Seems the past year or two Ive barely gotten to be with her. Good times had down there for sure.
Thanks Mark!
Best of luck down there. From what I hear about Okeechobee, it'll make you not miss the river so much!
Okeechobee will be only a couple house closer then Louisville from where I will be believe it our not! There are some big bass in there though. My buddy is a Fisheries Biologist in central Florida, some big hawgs down there for sure. I must say the river, especially the falls, is one special place. Especially if you are the kind of fisherman that enjoys putting a hook in the water and half of the fun is seeing what species youll bring up! Ive had days where Ive caught everything from sauger to sturgeon out there!
I must admit though, Salt Water fish and fishing is a bit better then fresh water. The fish fight MUCH harder and man there are some really tasty fish out there. The though of fresh caught red snapper sashimi makes my mouth water! Nothing better then catching a fish, putting it on ice, and an hour taking a slice of meat and eating it right there on the boat with a bit of wasabi and soy sauce...YUM!
Dear Jason, how hard is it to ship fresh Mahi, mahi, snapper, grouper, pompano,or triggerfish????Have I told ya I love ya latly....Chuck
