    Buffalo Trace question

I'm a diehard redear man, I've heard there's some nice crackers in Buffalo Trace Park. Anybody in Southern Indiana familiar with this small lake and would it be worth the thirty minute drive for me?

I'm looking to catch a mess of fish, but preferably land some good size redear. Can anyone fill me in on this lake?

I don't know the lake but I do know one thing. Any day on the water is worth a 30 minute drive!

I run (literally) over there all the time and I don't think it would be worth the thirty minute drive. You seem to be pretty diehard I think you would be disappointed. I've seen a couple of "fair" bluegill on stringers before there but that's about it. It's a shallow weedy lake with plenty of bank access.

I've only been there one time, back when i was like 16 or 17 years old...Do they allow boats on the lake there...If so is there a limit as to how big of boat can be put on it?

As far as I know there is no size limit on the boat. However, it is a trolling motor only lake.

I only live 45 minutes away and I like to fish it whenever possible. There are some good-sized bluegills and I have caught several "eater sized" redear, but no monster 'ears (that doesn't mean they are not there). Weeds are already pretty heavy so bottom fishing it no longer an option. I have had my best luck casting 1/16oz white Road Runners until I catch a few fish in a certain area and then putting out live bait. It seems the fish move around a lot...if the bite slows, start searching again. Two weeks ago, they were stacked in less than 2' water with a gravel bottom.
