You can get these through BASS, and also several tackle shops now carry them but you can also use needles you get for shots, see if a local Dr or pharm will donate you some, do not know the best size but a little searching will produce an answer.

Does anyone know where I can get "fizzing needles" for deflating bass caught deep (in bulk would be nice, I need to be able to hand them out to my bass club about 15-20 or so)?

If you sharpen the points, needles for blowing up basketballs can work and are not very expensive.
I've researched and found a 16 gauge is the best, and they recommend the hypodermics because of their sharpness
go to tacklewarehouse.com, they have the bends mender! call em and they will hook you up.
tacklewarehouse is my fav. just got my Fathersday order in Friday!!! They have them for $4.29, but as I said I need about 20 and the hypodermics may be the best option to hand out. I'm planning on a demonstration to my club next week.
are these ever required by law like they are in offshore???
not yet
At farm supply stores, the needles used to give animals shots are really cheap. I have not priced them this year but I would guess them to cost less than 50 cents each.
I know that these "deflators" or "fizzing needles" are used offshore, but from how deep will fish need to be treated to prevent problems? I would think anything below 40 ft or so would, but please educate me on this. Also, are these needles for equalizing pressure between the air bladder and the surface, or is it like the benze that humans have to watch for (separation of nitrogen or oxygen in the bloodstream)? Thanks
Its just like in salt water. You are deflating the air bladder so the fish can swim down instead of floating around at the surface. It just seems that even when deep cranking for a Bass in 20 ft of water, this may not be needed... am i wrong?
