Hi,
We went to Nolin tailwater Saturday. We bank fished from about noon till 3PM
and got skunked. We did see a guy catch a 12 inch ky. bass & 8 inch crappie
on a minnow fished 3 ft. below a float. I talked with a local who said he does better in the morning & evening. He said he catches bass & crappie & has a friend that fishes all night on the bottom with nightcrawlers & catches walleye.
I'm too stubborn to sit around the house all day on a beautiful Saturday & wait for the evening bite, so I usually go during the heat of the day & hope for the best. Army corps of engineer tailwaters all seem to have real easy access &
have good potential when they are discharging the right amount of water.

Get yourself a kayak (or a canoe) and fish way past the dam. We have been going down stream and catching some 2-3 pound bass and several rock bass. the bass fishing has actually been pretty good during the heat of mid-day, and you can always tie on a rope gar lure and fish for some of the HUGE gar that patrol the waters.
we have been using 4" worms with some GREAT success.
