No mud slinging here. Charlie Strong was a good hire and the Cards are turning things around. There's not much doubt about that.

I know this will bring out a bunch of mud slinging but I gotta say it anyway. I am impressed as heck out of the way this team is turning around. If Louisville could have had better play out of the secondary and My God please find somebody who can punt they would have won that game. The coaching staff is turning this thing around.
Louisville will not be an easy out next year, Hell they aren't an easy out now.
Way to Charlie Strong and staff, what a turn around, YES, I'm excited about a loss, I can see alot of good coming to this team and it won't take three years like alot predicted either. Just my two cents, now go ahead and flame it up......................

I agree....Strong was a great hire....and he will have a better product on the field in time. Clown'thorpe was....well....a Clown.
Strong will lead to better recruits and a better Louisville squad....and that will make for better rivalry games in the future against UK. Strong vs Phillips has the potential to become a good back-and-forth. Even though you guys have been "down" these last couple of years, you always play UK tough.
I agree... Strong was an excellent hire. I respect him a lot... so much so i actually cheer for teh cards now when they are not playing my Cats.
I am no Joker Phillips fan... i believe that in a few years of rebuilding at UL and the destruction Phillips will do at UK we will be back to the way things used to be in the schnellenberger days...
They were talking during the game the other night about some of the discipline measures he has put in place. One thing they made mention of and said he has a ZERO tolerance for was respect for women. He and the coaching staff told the players that if anyone was caught being disrespectful or degrading to women they would be automatically thrown off the team. He told them he wanted Men to play for his team, and no Boys. I got alot of admiration for that message, the more I hear about the guy the better I like him.
Why do you think Joker will put the big wrecking ball to UK Football? We had a legacy of below average mediocrity prior to Rich Brooks....Brooks brought us up to above average mediocrity....
Joker played here, coached under Brooks for his tenure. I'm not waving the flags just yet, but give Joker some more time at the wheel to get accustomed to calling all the shots and get some of his own recruits in the house....asses his coaches after the season....etc, etc, etc. He's a first year head coach in the SEC that is 7 games into the season with a 4-3 record. We would have been ready to bronze a statue of Brooks if he had done that in his first year.
Give him some time...
Haven't got to watch Louisville play, except for KY game. Looking thru the scores and stats after that they look to be playing competitive football. What they need to do now is start winning all the games they should and then pulling off a few mild upsets here and there. Better recruits and then they get to the point where they dominate games they should and then win a good share of 50/50 games. What kills me is the games where they just lay the egg against the inferior team i.e. Syracuse. That hasn't happened this year.
For KY, they need to beat Tennessee this year. They beat Spurrier, still got destroyed by Florida, but can do a whole lot for the program by beating Tennessee. Cats really need to get that monkey off the back. Then they can work on beating Florida.
I really like Joker, he's a classy guy and I think he'll do just fine as Chief. Beating ''The Visor'', was a huge feather in his cap. Spurrier is a TOOL, I loved seeing UK beat USC.
Dont msunderstand me. I love having Joker at the helm. A kentucky boy who played for teh cats and is now leading the team is awesome. But his play calling as an offensive coordinator was questionable... and it is showing that he is overriding his present offensive coordinator when he is running the ball while auburns secondary was losing to our recieving corps all night...
I like that! They were talking during the game the other night about some of the discipline measures he has put in place. If he can get his defensive line worked out, there will be more wins.
Powell is a beast! If he can get some decent blockers, he'll be hard to catch. He should of had another touchdown or two if the blockers had actually tackled...it's like they're scared or something!
It is gonna take time but he is got them heading in the right direction. Very few stupid penalties and a more disciplined hard nose team. I said before the season I didn't care about the won-loss record, just wanted to see an improved football team each week and that is exactly what I have seen.
In addition, his recruiting class is shaping up to rival some of Petrino's. Jeez I sure don't miss the last coach!![]()
Better keep the team away from Pitino then. They were talking during the game the other night about some of the discipline measures he has put in place.
