You should remember that this lake it heated in the winter time by the power plants hot water discharges.

This is not a normal Midwestern lake in winter time. It's a hot water lake so the bass will act like it's warm all year long.

I don't know a lot about this size or depth of this lake but it's my understanding that it's a thermal regulation lake for a power plant.

That's why you don't see the bass schooling in the deepest water in winter time like they will in a normal cold water lake here in the Midwest.

I didn't go yet. I will probably go in the next couple of days. Probably show up with topwater, spinnerbaits, cranks, and buzz baits.

psvec, Not trying to start an argument but I hope they don't make any changes. As it is a 25 hp is plenty fast enough and if they open it up there WILL be someone running full tilt boogie. As a deep water fisherman sometimes it gets tough now with the wake from a 25hp I can't imagine a guy with a 225 saying I'M IDLING yeah he may be by his standard ,with a 3' wake behind him..I own a 18' Stratos as well as a 15' Duracraft with a 20hp just for Newton sure additional expense but as I fish it a lot I feel its worth it. The guy that maybe does not feels its unfair to not be able to run his big engine fishes it maybe once or twice a year I understand but I still feel Newton is a jewell as it is I feel it would be a real shame to to make any changes at all. The old addage give em an inch and they will take a mile would probably apply.
