I don't care where he coached, that guy is not normal and why he is looked up to by anybody is beyond me. He is the poster boy for hypocrisy and anger management issues. Neil Reed's father should be ashamed of himself. If that had been my son, I would have beaten Knight's azz like I was his daddy!

LMAO!! Funny how alot of folks forget or give him a pass. I think we all are for forgiving the guy and his shortcomings but in doing so he should be wise enough to remember his own faults.
I think he has a chemical imbalance because he flips out!! I have learned this in my 40+ years....anyone who thinks they have the right to just act a total fool and either verbally assualt, freak out and toss crap, get in other persons face, disrespect others in a malicious way or just be totally out of control hasn't had a good old fashioned thumpin in awhile. Once you feel the pain of being dominated by someone else it changes your outlook on how "awesome" you think you are.
The old boy just needs a tune up.

I went to school with and played ball with Neil Reed......if you knew him you would know that he deserved anything he got....as did the WHOLE IU team that voted him off of the team. Part of what you guys think about Knight is true, he doesn't always practice what he preaches. However, you cannot deny what type of players and teams he produced, the graduation rate his players maintained, money donated to the schools he coached, and his spotless NCAA violation record. That is WAY more than what can be said about most coaches. Was Rupp a model citizen??? Woody Hayes???? Rick Pitino??? Denny Crum???

Crum, Pitino, Rupp and Hayes are not model citizens, but compared to Bob Knight they are angels. Let us not forget that Bobby Knight is also a two time game law violator, which doubles his uselesness. You can spin it however you want, the bottom line is Bob Knight is a hypocritical uselss piece of garbage who would most likely be in jail if he wasn't a famous basketball coach!

I attended and graduated from Purdue University, so that should tell all how much I detested (as a rival) I.U.
But Bobby Knight could take the slowest,shortest 5 white boys and make a team out of them. He was and is the "General" and defined I.U. basketball for many years.

Game law violator.....please humor me with your information. I won't try to persuade you away from your opinion of him, that obviously won't happen. However, calling him a useless piece of garbage is going WAY over the line. He is one of the most influential men to ever walk the sidelines whether you like it or not.

Humor you or give you facts? When he shot his friend while bird hunting he did not possess a hunting license. There was another one as well that I believe involved waterfowl. I will do some digging.
Is Bobby Knight influential? Unfortunately yes. Just kind of shows what type of society we live in.

As a guy who at times in his life has struggled a bit with loosing my temper I won't call a kettle black. However I don't like the way he head butted and or smacked around the kids. That's not his place to do that. He was a Hell of a basketball coach and most of his kids that went through his program became good people and citizens. Most of them love him for it to even though they didn't at the time he was doing it.
Now moving on to present day. He seems to have a mightier than thou attitude and seems to have forgotten how he once acted. He and Jigger ''Homer'' Phelps which I absolutely DETEST rant and rave about this and that. What motion did Kuric make, maybe I'm blind but I have watched that clip over and over and over and over and I don't see any **** motion. If you don't like Louisville Bobby and you don't, if you don't like Louisville Jigger and you most certainly don't JUST SAY SO. But don't make crap up during a game to fan your flames. The kid didn't do SQUAT.

After watching that clip, I agree that the Kuric kid didn't do nearly as much as some some players do after massive dunks. I think more T's should be given in instances like that.
Tim.....My family personally knows someone on the hunt you were talking about where Knight accidentally "peppered" (shot) the man. In bird hunting the hunters are always supposed to maintain a "line" and not walk in front of the others. In this case, the man who got shot admitted that he made a mistake and was ahead of the line. Knight did not expect this, and fired where he was supposed to. A far as the license goes, he should have had one. I know that all of the times he hunted with people that I know he did everything legal and never ignored game limits or licensing. By the way, Wikipedia can be a useful source......but, did you know that anyone can go in and change or add to the info.....it is not a very reliable source! Our school system banned its use in any research work, as have others.
