It is very muddy but not quite up to summer pool as of today. Crappies can still be caught in that mud though.

For some reason the COE doesn't report the water quality (temp/O2) readings from Nov-March I guess they think that the cooler water holds plenty of oxygen.
I would guess the surface temps at Patoka would be in the low 40's in places maybe lower?
The water at Patoka Lake does not stratify until it's warmer. During the winter months the water temperatures at the surface are pretty much the same as at the bottom. And I guess they won't like to get out in the cold during the winter months.
Disolved Oxygen is directly related to the water temperature. Cold water holds more oxygen than hot water does.
The site is current for water level, rain or precipitation, and current flowing out of the lake. They don't take water temperature and DO readings after Oct 31st and before May sometimes.
My friend said that he heard on Bass Boat Central that the main lake was clear and only the creek channels were muddy. But he didn't see this for himself so take that information with a grain of salt.[

i went today and the warmest temp i found was 44.8 it varied from where i was at. the lowest i found was 40.1. the creeks and everything off of the main lake was muddy. the main lake wasnt to bad. it actually was kinda clear. Only caught 1 fish all day but i was a good one. about a 4 pound smallmouth. i was suprised to catch a smallie.
