Who in the world would want him after the display of basketball the Cardinals put on during this year against you know who and last year against California? Like I posted in another post, even the Diehard Louisville Cardinal fan's are not happy with the results overall since Ricky P came riding in on his white horse.

    Re: Pitino Done???

He will make the transition from coach to TV analyst soon. Maybe not this year, but real soon. His post-game presser yesterday was telling, and IMO...he's near the end of the coaching road.

"This is as tough a loss as I’ve had in coaching, and I’ve been coaching a long time, after tonight maybe too long."

"My window is closing in coaching. I said I could leave this year and be a happy man. And I could have with this team because they were just a sheer delight to coach the whole season. You always want to coach a team like this in your last years that you coach the game. Some coaches don’t get that opportunity. I did. So I’m real proud of that. It’s still a bitter ending to it."

    Q. It’s real emotional for you right now, but are you thinking about walking away?

COACH PITINO: "No, that’s not what I said. I said ‘the last years of coaching.’ I mean, I’m 58. I’m not going to coach forever. I’m just saying you want to go out with a team like this when you do go out. Every year I take some time off, reflect. I said, I could reflect and walk away and be very proud even though we lost in the first round. But that’s not what I said. I said ‘my last years of coaching,’ plural."

Been tellin the Cardinal fans for quite some time that Pitino is washed up and ready for the bench...Get a new coach in his place and they might finally get to a Championship game again in the NCAA Tournament......

That is false! What die hard Cardinal fans? Certainly none of the season ticket holders. certainly none of the boosters and high dollar folks, certakily none of the people actually filling the seats at the Yum Center. Die Hard fans are not calling for his head, now Joe Blow on the intrawebs who wears a Louisville shirt he bought at the Awesome Flea Market might be complaining, but I haven't heard any complaints from the people who matter. Btw, once again Louisville is in the top 2 in most profitable college basketball teams in the country. They were number two behind Duke this year. Pitino leaves when he wants to leave.

I guess if "profits" are the goal then I guess you got your man. Uk wants titles and u of l wants profits is what will separate the men from the boys.

If it were me I'd take "profits" and "no titles" over just "no titles", if we're talking recent history. A lot of stuff has happened since 1998. Louisville has been to the final four since then. Indiana made it to the title game since then.............George freakin' Mason made it to the final four since then.

That is the difference between Louisville and Kentucky. At Kentucky, you are EXPECTED, DEMANDED and whatever other word to WIN a National Title each and every year. At Louisville, it is accepted to get knocked out in the round of 64, 2 consecutive years, it is accepted to go 12-8 in the NCAA Championship in your 10 year tenure at Louisville. Win 12 games in 10 years at Kentucky and, well there is no and, you don't make it 10 years at UK winning only 12 games in the NCAA Tourney. Even Tubby Smith won 14 games his LAST 8 season's at UK and NEVER was bounced in the first round, especially not by a 13 seed, and he was ran out of town as if his last name was Hitler. Even Tubby won or shared 4 conference championships, with 2 seconds in his last 8 years at UK, which is more than Ricky can speak of (and One of these were in Conference USA - Did they even play basketball in CUSA). That stretch of highway between Lexington and Louisville is just like the stretch of highway between NC State and UNC/Duke, one half is ok with just making the Big Dance with an occasional victory and the other half better win or heads will roll.

I hear it all the time about how obnoxious (sp), cruel, uppity (if that is a word), stuck up, boystrous (sp and if that is a word) that UK fans are. Trust me, the same thing that UK fans give, seem to give, make it seem they are giving, is the same thing that is given right back. For all the Louisville Fans that can't stand Kentucky there are just as many Kentucky Fans that can't stand Louisville. Then there are the others that will root for the other team as long as they are not playing each other. I happen to be one of the Kentucky Fans that can't stand RICK PITINO, for what he stands for, for the type of man that he is, for the type of husband that he is/was or whichever today and as long as he is Louisville's Coach I will forever and always take a stand against them. I never dis-liked Louisville when Denny Crum was there, even when he was whipping Joe B Hall like a rented government mule, but I can't stand Pitino. The love / hate relationship goes both ways. Last year after West Virginia beat Kentucky, there were Bombs Bursting in Air about the Big East, KenSucky, and you can't spell ***** without UK and..... the list goes on. 1000000000% GUARANTEED, when Kentucky gets beat in this NCAA Tourney the Cardinal fans will be here giving back what they just got.

If that does not prove my point EXACTLY that was posted as I was typing mine. Game Set Match!!!! The real sad part is there are Louisville Fans that can't stand the fact that UK is the greatest basketball team in their own state, can't stand the fact that U of L will NEVER measure up to UK, can't stand that U of L will NEVER have the fan base (profit or not-profitable) that UK has, can't stand the fact that no matter how hard they try - how much effort they put forth - how much blood sweat and tears that they give - IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH!!!!

Pretty funny coming from a program that is on their third coach in 5 years. Sold your soul to the devil to get the current coach LOL. Before Gillispie was hired all you hired from UK fans ion the radio and on the message boards were how much of a cheater and piece of trash Cal was. As a matter of FACT the biggest Catfan douchebag of all time ripped Cal and all his conniving ways Matt Jones! I can pull up what the tool wrote if ya need me too!
