Got off work a little early this afternoon and decided to head out for a couple hours. Hadnt fished up there in a couple years but me and a friend had caught some good fish there in the past, several in the 4-5lb range.
Started off with a jig but the water was a little muddier than I planned. Went to a spinnerbait after about 20minutes and started catching a few. Ended up with 8 fish and 3 keepers. Heres the biggest

That place is full of goose droppings and nasty. At least it was the last time I went there.
Otter Pit use to have a problem with the Canada Geese walking down the concrete launch ramp to get into the water. The Geese eat the grass and leave their fertilizer droppings on the concrete which addes phospate to the area that make the slick algae grow on the concrete.
Hey 3pt is that in Pike county ?
Is it always that nasty?
I have never launched my boat in any of those lakes , but I have bank fished them a few times. Never caught a fish , again , I was very limited to where I could fish. And I would say normally the water is almost gin clear with alot of vegitation if memory serves me correctly.
We coulda used a few of those Saturday at the tournament. O_o
The wind pushed us outta the creek faster than we could have idled out. ha ha ha
