Now, I understand IBM does nothing for free, and they have an entire health care division......BUT if they could have saved a TRILLION dollars in fraud and abuse, then I say the gubment should have given them a shot.

    WOW.

Lol no way would he allow software to prove his obamacare was lumped into the fraudulent ways of Medicare and other programs. Plus it would be the kiss of death on any potus to back anything that takes money from old, minority or groups that rely on it.

I was involved with the State of Indiana as a developer many, MANY moons ago, when Motor Fuel TAX and the Taxing subsystems were rewritten. There was so much HATE and sabotage performed internally by INDIANA STATE WORKERS, that not even 1/2 of the system was implemented.

I seriously DOUBT IBM was at fault with the issues within the State.

Here is a link to success stories with IBM Healthcare Systems.

Beware of anything that sounds too good to be true. I'm quite skeptical of offers/boasts made by sales people, including IBM salespeople. Something tells me IBM had a billing rate determined and an exit strategy set before the offer was made.

Absolutely..........I completely agree. Nothing is free, and I suspect after it was implemented, it would cost a PRETTY PENNY, but if the savings can be realized, wow.

From the success stories I read on the IBM site posted, I suspect they are capable of doing this.

In MHO the success of any automation system lies primarily in the hands of the user. I've gotten excellent results with terrible software, and miserable results with what was proposed to be world-class stuff.

I'm particularly suspiscious of COTS stuff. One size fits all, adapted software is almost always a compromise.

No attack on IBM, just a general set of observations about the inductry.

To me, give me a simple database with a simple and straight forward interface to tailor any type query I can think of, and I'm all smiles.
