    Age of America Ending Soon???

    http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-bud...nd-marketwatch

Well..this right here is certainly an interesting read if you have time...apparently in five years China will pass the United States economically, thus making the U.S. the SECOND largest economy in the world....#2....Second place...close to first but no cigar...UL vs UK, etc, etc...

And also read the part about no amount of spending will help the U.S. just so it can retain the top spot (Nobama take note of this will ya!). Kind of seems to me that America has spent and spent and spent until she can't spend no more.

Of course, we can't be to surprised by this can we? Especially considering the current POTUS we have sitting in as captain of the ship. Then again....once I think about it, I can't put all the blame on Nobama. Every Leader of this country has had their own hand in this mess.

Yep it doesn't surprise me. We could talk for days on the crumbling of our once top of the heap great nation and the long spiral down hill. Our leaders have done this and until we get a real leader to take us forward and not backwards or stagnant we will continue to be owned by China and OPEC.
Just watched a sound bite from obamy and his idea of what to do about these gas prices.

He said that there is " no silver bullet" to the fix of these gas prices. Hmmm I think there has been for 20 or more years. Drill our own oil!!!! Alternative energy and fuel efficient autos. He did mention the autos but that alone isn't enough nor is it a groundbreaking move.

It would have been nice to hear him say we would tap some of our own resources or get the EPA out of the way but nope.....we need a leader not a puppet.

Its history! Greek empire, roman empire, british empire, mongol and on and on.They all extended themselves, and it happened. Our peace loving country has fought france, england, japan , germany, korea, china, russia, and that also go's on.When you have troops in at least 20 different countrys, the financial drag will eventually bring you down. But it wasn't the military the world looked up with us, it was the idea of freedom, of unlimited personal destiny, these things are eroding also.

When you lose your middle class you lose your freedoms and economy goes down the drain. The middle class pays the brunt of the taxes and fights the wars. It all started with the big "sucking sound" that Ross Perot was trying to warn us about with NAFTA.

    You are SO RIGHT.......

I'm a big free market economy guy, but FAIR and FREE are two different things. In a purist capitalistic sense, NAFTA was the best thing in the world. From a social and economic standpoint, NAFTA started a whirlwind of loss economic power.

NAFTA did bring cheap goods which I like, but it also closed down 12 factories in my hometown, which I don't like. There needs to be a happy medium, and unfortunately, we've NEVER found that.

I do believe had the UAW given in a little more in my little home town, some of these plants would still be producing products........As it is......all those top dollar 50k a year UAW jobs are GONE, never to be replaced. And gone with them are the swank tax revenues that my hometown used for streets, fire, police, hospitals, education, etc, etc.

Were at a breaking point and our politicians don't give a CRAP..........

    Later,

    Geo

The politicians don't care because they are not the one's being impacted! Sad really.

Well, I certainly supported and voted for ol' Ross. If he had been elected the Mexicans would still be in ol' Mexico, we would still be a major industial nation and not a service oriented nation (McDonalds hired 50,000 last week), we wouldn't be wearing clothes made in sweat shops by kids and women in China and third world countries making 7 dollars a week and working 100 hour weeks, yes, we would be paying more for them...but we would be paying americans to make them....and last but not least, we would not be wondering how many POW's we left in N. Viet Nam and Cambodia.

I voted for that plain speaking gentleman from Texas - he spoke his mind and made all kind of sense to me. Sometimes someone will say something and when you hear it - it just has the ring of truth . . . many of the things he said affected me that way.

I wish he was elected - or we could find someone like him for this next presidential election!
I'm afraid we will continue to decline as a nation if we do not find someone that is equal to today's challenges.

I voted for him too! I think I was in my 20's or so at the time...I remember some of the "older" folks at the time telling me I was "wasting" my vote, what was I thinkin', and so on. At the time he sure did seem like the best candidate in my opinion.
