From what I am hearing, you might want to mount a chain saw to the front of your boat.
I am heading to Cumberland in a week and half and hope the sun comes out!! No more rain, please....

Heading to Cumberland on Wednesday and have been watching the water rise about a foot a day for the past few days. Does anyone know what the fish are doing right now? I can only imagine that the water is up in the bushes by now. Would really like to have a fun day catching bass on Wednesday and would appreciate any insight or thoughts on it. Thanks in advance for input!!!

I'll rent you a couple of Beavers, which you can harness to your trolling motor.....
Good luck with the fishing and be careful.
Better take all the props you can buy and purchase stock in the company that makes them. Its not the forest you see floating but the ones so big and waterlogged that are just below the surface. You could save on towing the boat down and logroll from log to log and get where you want to fish.
Thats what I figured. I know it'll be rough. I'm fishing a tourney Saturday and only have Wednesday to prefish. Other than the high water and floating forest, any info on fishing? Ill certainly post my results when I get back. Putting in at state dock. Thanks again guys!!!
Fishing is off for the most part. The lake has came up several feet in the last 24 hours, they are holding it right now. The lake is predicted to be 727 or more by Thursday.
It's a mess from what I'm being told. Over the weekend it wasn't that bad but has now gottem really bad on ther main lake and even the creeks are getting trashed.
I was gonna go Wednesday but I just don't know if I can afford to tear a boat up right now. Bite has been very tough, fish are scattered and are very confused, way too much water.
Off? No, it wasn't when I was last there. Bass, stripers, walleye and Cats were going nuts. It may have changed, but I don't think so.
Well not everybody is saying that Duayne, care to send a brother a PM and give me something good. I'm guessing live bait on the bottom which I don't do, but feel free to Pm me and straighten me out please...![]()
Here's my report from two weekends ago. Fish were 20 ft deep in 40 ft of water then. May have moved up some by now..

Some friends were slaying bass, both LM and SM and caught at least one striper on top. Weekend before I caught 8 SM casting bucktails..
Duayne, no offense but I remember this now, Dude the lake is totally different right now, it's at almost 722, when you were there it may have been 711 at worst. I'm checking with folks that have been fishing over the last week, completely different. Here's my report from two weekends ago. Fish were 20 ft deep in 40 ft of water then. If I go this week and not sink due to hitting logs as big as my house I'll give a report.
i knew this would be a case of "you should have been here yesterday". This weekend was tough. Both day time bass and night time stripers. One keeper striper and several shorts. couple of walleye, and 5 bass from Friday night through Saturday night. We opted to sleep in Sunday rather than enjoy the heavy rain. The fish were well off the bank. Very few alewifes up on the bank. Did hear a few behind us too.

That bait HAS to move up soon.. Maybe mid month when it gets closer to the full moon.
