I wonder how long it will take gas prices to drop 12 percent.
FYI........at 3.91 a gallon, 12 percent would be .47 cents......
So, we should see 3.45 a gallon gas sometime in the next week or so. EVEN if oil climbs back to 110 in a week, we should STILL see a drop in prices.
I bet we don't get close to 3.45 in the next 4 weeks...........

regular is $4.19 in Danville ,il this morning Diesel is $4.05. I had a guy standing in line to pay for his gas say I just quit buying anything at the station cept gas. They make enough off of me as it is. The guy behind the counter say they don't care they will quit ordering from the supplier which happens to be 10 miles from where we were standing. he says then they can lay off more workers there and the price of gas will go up to compensate for the loss in coffe, candy, etc......vicious ol world out here

Geo, the way it works is that if the price crude oil goes up say 10% the oil companies must raise the price of gas by at least 20% in order to offset the price of the crude oil.
If the price of crude oil goes down by 10% the oil companies must raise the price of gas by at least 20% to meet demand.
Should the price of crude oil remain unchanged the oil companies must raise the price of gas by at least 20% to maintain stability.

I am not the owner but a good friend of mine owns a BP station off of I-65 and he has told me he makes something ridiculously low off of gas sales. It seems like it was less than a nickle for gallon.
You posted this on May 5th, now here it is May 10th, a mere five days later and now look where we are with these stinkin' ridiculous people raping gas prices now!!!I wonder how long it will take gas prices to drop 12 percent.

I dont blame big oil companies. They are in business just like anyone else. To make money. Yes the numbers are huge. Bu the actual profit margin in percentage points is about 7% profit, which is what any business makes. I blame the government. The government makes more in taxes from a gallon of gas than an oil company makes in profits.
