Not necessarily, it depends on what part of the lake you are fishing. There is a section of reciprocal water available. Anglers may use either a Tennessee or a Kentucky sport fishing license while fishing in the Wolf River arm of Dale Hollow Lake. This includes the Illwill Creek embayment beginning at a line crossing the Wolf River at its mouth where it joins the Obey River and the main part of the lake.

Back to the subject at hand. There is a good night bite in May. Try fishing a Rapala Husky Jerk around the bluff walls, but reel it slow so that it just wobbles back and forth. Some people even attach it with a clip to give it a wider wobble.

RR I am not sure, I believe if you are a Kentucky resident you must posess a Kentucky license anywhere on the lake. At least that is the way it sounds from reading the fishing guide. I am not real up-to-date on it because I usually buy a Tennesse year long resident license.

A ky license wont allow you you to fish in tenn waters beyond the recipercal (sp), therefore a non res. tenn lic is necessary.

if you know what dock your going out of i can tell you your limits w/ky license
