anyone ever try dale at night foe walleye do you catch them on top like cumberland on bluff walls or what or how
yes, dale is better than cumberland. and fish for them on top if the shad are up or throw a strawberry color little mac, or a black back sliver. and you don't have to fish bluff walls, fish for them in shallow flats with a lot of stumps. good luck.![]()
Just keep in mind the state lines, you need to be careful because if you cross the state line, you are required to have Tenn. a Tenn. fishing license also.
Not necessarily, it depends on what part of the lake you are fishing. There is a section of reciprocal water available. Anglers may use either a Tennessee or a Kentucky sport fishing license while fishing in the Wolf River arm of Dale Hollow Lake. This includes the Illwill Creek embayment beginning at a line crossing the Wolf River at its mouth where it joins the Obey River and the main part of the lake.
Back to the subject at hand. There is a good night bite in May. Try fishing a Rapala Husky Jerk around the bluff walls, but reel it slow so that it just wobbles back and forth. Some people even attach it with a clip to give it a wider wobble.

Smallies and walleye feed in the same area but at different times. Try some different topwaters about an hour before sunset for smallies. If and when you catch smallies in an area on top, stick around in that same area and you'll catch walleye for about an hour after sunset as well. Flats and right along the edge of those flats are where it's at.
Tim this is not the case with a non resident license is it?Not necessarily, it depends on what part of the lake you are fishing. There is a section of reciprocal water available. RR I am not sure, I believe if you are a Kentucky resident you must posess a Kentucky license anywhere on the lake. At least that is the way it sounds from reading the fishing guide. I am not real up-to-date on it because I usually buy a Tennesse year long resident license.
are they biteing down there yet?
A ky license wont allow you you to fish in tenn waters beyond the recipercal (sp), therefore a non res. tenn lic is necessary.RR I am not sure, I believe if you are a Kentucky resident you must posess a Kentucky license anywhere on the lake.
