I make that run all the time. I-65S out of Louisville to the West KY Parkway and stay on it until it ends, go I-24 west, then take exit 31 (Grand Rivers exit) and go south and it will turn into The Trace which is the main road through LBL

It's the fast way to get there without taking a bunch of backroads, etc. I can leave Louisville, set the cruise, and never have to hit the brake until exit 31. Takes about 2.5 hours. I'll be heading that way for the Labor Day weekend to camp in Smith Bay.

If you make it to Sugar Bay in 2.5 hrs.......you cruise a heck of a lot faster than I do.....I usually takes me a full hour more. Granted I rarely drive quicker than 65.....but MAN 2.5...........you're really flying.

    I will tell you this too..........at 60, I get 17mpg pulling the boat......at 70, I get 15 mpg........at 75......13.

    I prefer 17mpg...........

    Later,

I get to Grand Rivers in 2.5 hrs from Louisville - can't remember how long it takes me to go the rest of the way down the Trace and over those winding roads to Sugar - maybe around 20 minutes

I set the cruise on 75
