Fished for bass sat 9/17-started at 7:30 am and it was slow at first. Saw no jumps at all just one fish jump here and there and started catching a few on plastics about 9 to 12:30 pm. 14 caught with only 2 being above 15 inches. 9/18 sun. Started at 7:30 am again and fished until 11:00 am. Rained off and on during that time. Caught 15 bass with 3 above 15 inches but none sat. Or sun. Above 18 inches. Topwater bite was dead all weekend for me. Caught bass on these plastics.....yum dinger in watermelon red, zoom speed craw in same color and speed craw in bama bug color. They seemed to be after the green with red flake the best. All bass caught in 2-10 ft. Deep. Fished in the moutardier area most of the time. Enjoyed the weather most of the weekend on the lake and caught some fish. Cant beat that ! Later jc

I was fishing a popper and the guy i was with fished a buzzbait with no luck sat or sun but after fishing topwater for about 30 min with no bites switched back to plastics. Weird maybe they where biting topwater in some areas but not others or we didnt spend enough time fishing topwater. Later jc

I fished Sunday morning for a few hours and caught around 20 bass, with 4 keepers being in there. Fish were pretty much hitting whatever was thrown their way, caught them on a crankbait, pop-r and a spinnerbait. The better fish came on a spinnerbait.
Also, you have to love when you are working your way down a bank and you are about 40 yards from an obvious point you are wanting to hit and a Ranger pulls right up in front of you and stops right on that point and looks back at you like "what?" The laugh was on them though bc not only did they not catch one fish off that point, I kind of put the trolling motor a little higher and pushed them off it faster than they wanted to. Then proceeded to catch 6 fish on 6 casts right next to them, 2 being keepers. Then the guy has the audacity to ask me what I'm catching them on.
The lake wasnt that crowded. If i see someone headed down a bank towards a point i would bypass that point and find one of the other 100 points not being fished. But thats my point of view and as to how far away to be before cutting in front of another boat i guess to each his own but i have never had anyone complain to me that i cut too close in front of them.
I agree. Common courtesy you would think, especially considering there wasn't another boat within sight of either of us. And it wasn't like they were in a tournament or anything bc they were not wearing their life jackets when they pulled up. But like you said, to each their own. They did get to enjoy watching me catch 6 fish off their point they were in a hurry to get to.
I can concur that the topwater bite was OFF this weekend. I caught maybe three on topwater, then I caught a bunch on a wacky worm. Boat traffic was somewhat reduced, but I was surprised to see people skiing and tubing and swimming in 73 degree water. It was a nice day, but not that nice. BTW, check google maps satellite imagery for views of the lake on Memorial day weekend. It was when the water was still up over the turn around at the Moutardier ramp. You can tell it is that Saturday-Monday due to the sheer number of boats on the lake while it was flooded.
i crappie fished most of the day on rough but i did see some shad in a bay and started throwing a skitter walk and had 3 blow up on it in about 15-20 mins one big one blew up on it but no hook up i did mangage to catch a small keeper or big slot ( i didn't measure it) it was probably around 1 1/2 pounds the top water bite seemed okay there but like i said i crappie fished the whole day
How was the crappie bite? Trying to decide for this Saturday to go back to Green River Lake for crappie or to Nolin.
I've decided I'm not tolerating being in a tournament as an excuse for rude behavior. I don't give a squat if you're fishing for money or for fun. We all have the right to the same water, and we all have a need to share it cooperatively. Fishing for a living doesn't make it ok to cut folks off, crowd them off, or expect somebody else to give way. Just tired of excusing bad behavior. You do it to me, there ain't no excuse and the chips fall where ever I decide to drop them. And I can accept losing as many as I win.
I would have answered "Courtesy,,,but you obviously don't carry that on your boat".I fished Sunday morning for a few hours and caught around 20 bass, with 4 keepers being in there.
