It does depend on the time. Seems rush hour either way is a mess. South bound is a mess all the way through lunch time on work days. Late evening or early early mornings are the only safe bet. Don't know how the weekends are shaping up.

I'm gonna try to head down south here in a few weeks. I haven't been through that area in a while. There's signs here in Indy to avoid it. Just wondering if I should find another route. I didn't know if you hit at an odd time say "early/late" if there would be a problem
any help much appreciated
thanx tom

Pick Mid week and try to hit it around 10:00am or 2:00pm, or anytime after 8:00pm EXCEPT game night.
It is a crap shoot. I live in New Albany, and drive to Louisville every day. Some days I can make it in 30 minutes. Others, it take an hour.
If there is any type of hangup on the bridge, HANG IT UP.....you will be stuck for hours, and maybe days![]()
.
Unfortunately, there are not very many ways around it.

Weekends are CRAP.........the traffic doesn't have any hot times, and is consistently bad on the weekend. NOT so bad later, say after 7:00pm, but anytime before then, and you may be stuck for upwards of an hour.
If you come this way, be EXTREMELY careful, and slow down. Idiots driving too fast do not have the reaction time, and there are NO shoulders the last 3-4 miles to the bridge. If you're going to fast, you WILL hit the stopped traffic. Either that, or you will eat the wall.
People LOVE me because I'm NOT going to drive 70 through the middle of that junk.......60 is max, and I stay in the fast lane just to piss folks off![]()

unfortunatly, it will be a Friday night.
depending on when I can leave work it sounds like if I get off early I may be just as well to drive clear over to I75 & down.
Why not just head down 41 or some other route through southern IN and pickup the Pennyrile Parkway to the WK?
Charlie
I've never considered 41
I guess I need to check out a map, I've always took 65 down.
I've got the info I was asking for though guys. It seems like if I get off early I better find an alternate, if I leave late I might be ok.
thanx for the response guys
