Fished Rock Creek from first light until 12:30 today. Started out with a white buzz bait. They were hitting it good but a lot of short strikes. Had trouble getting hooked, even on a trailer hook. Switched to a white 3/8 oz. spinner bait after the sun got up and caught a number of fish. Finally went to a plastic lizard when the sun got up good and caught a few more before I had to leave. None of the bites were aggressive. Caught fish on secondary points and a little way into the coves or cuts. Water is about 5' below pool and temperature was 58 when I got there.

Maybe I looked at it wrong, in my old age nothing would surprise me anymore. I thought it was about 58 when I got there and about 60 when I left. Not sure!
Fished Sunday morning starting at 7:45 and it was between 59.8 and 60.5 further back in Dog Creek. Towards the mouth it was 60.5-61.5 - By 11:15 when I left it was between 61 near the ramp in Dog. It could have easily warmed as much as another 5 degrees later that day but I wasn't there to say.
Then we had another really cold night down to 29 so I would imagine it's closer to the low 60's than the high 60's by now.
then i guess the lake has turned over?
Fished Nolin from the back seat for 3 days, 23-25. We caught 15-20 fish each day. Most fish came from the walls in the creeks. We also did well rolling Strike King spinner baits through the stumps and swimming jigs on the banks.. Larger fish came from the rocks on the deeper banks, lots of fish holding on the sun warmed banks and under floating docks.

can you give me some pointers on reading that chart and what i am looking for. thanks.
when I look at it in the summer or early fall you can tell where the thermocline is by the water temp and oxygen level warmer and higher oxygen level above thermocline and lower temp and oxygen levels below if temp and oxygen levels are the same say down to 40 ft in the fall I figured it has turned over the corps puts out this info every week or so for all the major reservoirs
thanks for the help.
I was ther last weekend and the buzzbait bites were short but I used a trebble hook as a trailer and hooked up better. the secret is you have to hit the bank. Cause most of the strikes came within 1 foot of the shore. Also may want to use a senko rigged whacky with a small pinch weight. And just slowly drag it along. Caught most of my fish that way. watermeleon red and green pumkin were the two colors that worked the best. On the buzzbait black with a gold blade or chartruse and white with a white blade worked well. Also stay well out from shore and work everything all the way back to the boat. Alot of my strikes were followed to within 5 feet of the boat. i had accouple of 2lbders hit at the boat as I was getting ready to pick up and throw again. With less than 2 feet of line out!
