Tim, it is typical behavior for a small level team. It doesn't happen at U of L, UK, Kansas, North Carolina etc. and it shouldn't happen at IU!

As for the rest, I wouldn't include IU in the same breath with the Cincy/Xavier deal because the players for IU did nothing wrong, just some fans acting silly.

A Louisville fan calling IU a small level team....thats great....funniest thing I heard all day. I would bet that all of the schools you mentioned have had fans rush the court as often as IU has. When the #1 team gets beat on the road, it happens....they're college kids!

UK fan here, and to compare what the IU fans to what happened in the Cincy/Xavier game is ridiculous....The IU players did absolutely nothing wrong and the fans just did what has been done for years when your unranked team beats the #1 team in the country...Is it a safety concern for players and fans, yes, but they're college kids and they will do what they will do.....Heck most of these kids were born in the 90's and don't know anything about the tradition at IU...I promise it won't be the last time we you see the floor be rushed in an NCAA basketball game this year

I was at the Florida game years ago when UK beat them at Rupp and I'm pretty sure they rushed the floor??? Maybe I'm wrong but either way it's gonna happen when something like this happens. It's excusable in my book and a part of the excitement with college ball.

As far as the crap with cincy and Xavier nothing compares to that embarrassment. Heck I never liked bobby knight throwing temper tantrums but would rather see that than these senseless fights.

Read my post again. I never called IU a small level team, I said that happens at small levels schools and shouldn't be happening at IU because of their history. My point was that IU has been there before and the fans should act like it.

And no it doesn't happen every time the #1 team gets beat on the road. It happens when a team that is not usually on the same level as #1 gets beat. The only time I have ever seen Louisville fans come on the court was after they beat Syracuse in the very last game at Freedom Hall and they didn't storm the court in the traditional sense. Heck, Louisville beat two different #1 teams in the same season a few years ago and didn't rush the court.

Kentucky beat #1 Florida at Rupp Arena in 2003, but we have never rushed the court at Rupp Arena, to my knowledge. Even after our down years, I would be kind of embarrassed if we did. Rushing the court is reserved for teams that are huge underdogs, with otherwise crappy performance over a lengthy period of time, that manage to pull off a monumental upset. The fans of basketball "royalty" (UCLA, Duke, North Carolina, UCONN, Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky....and what used to be Indiana) shouldn't ever rush the court IMO. Those teams are supposed to win at home. Assembly Hall is a wicked place to play a big game. Indiana beat #20 Illinois last year and rushed the court....then, of course, they rushed Saturday night after beating #1 Kentucky. I'll give the Hoosiers a pass for Saturday night, because it was a shocking ending on a last second play, but I still think rushing the court is (1) dangerous for the players (especially the losers trying to get out), and (2) way overdone.

Rushing should be reserved for somebody like Kentucky football, who is a perpetually-lower-than-whale-crap program for the history of time....and finally beats Tennessee after 26 attempts, for instance. LOL

Well is sure loooks to me that you called Indiana a small level team....But that's ok, IU deserved to rush the floor after that awesome win...4th. year after such a terrible situation Sampson got the program in, this team is back and gonna be beating more higher ranked teams in the upcoming weeks.....

If your team had been enduring crummy season after crummy season, and then beats the number one ranked team, you would be excited too! Congrats to IU! Glad to see them on the up and up!

I can't believe that a UK fan would call out Hoosiers like that, UK's fans are known nationwide for being jerks! Fans rush the court all the time in college ball....not very often here at IU for sure. Once last year, and not since 2002 before that. Suddenly its not ok for the biggest student section in the country to support the guys that represent their school? We stormed the court and noone got hurt......only a UK fan would compare that to the Cincy/Xavier mess. Not even in the same realm.......idiotic comparison!

So you can guarantee the actions and behavior for every living IU fan out there...If that's the case then how do you explain you guaranteed behavior of the F-bomb chanting by your group of angels. I was going on memory brother. I really thought they did and I remember wanting to join but we were in the nose bleeds and by the time I would get there they would be sweeping the floor so we just watched. Hell I'm getting old and all those years of drugs might be catching up with me????

I do remember watching one of the loudest games I have ever been to. I'm not a screamer or loud talker but about lost my voice just trying to talk to my girlfriend during the game.... It was great!! Even though the Gators lost it was fantastic!
