Agreed!!! NASCAR today ain't nothing more than glitz and glamour in my opinion...everyone runs the same exact thing. Guess I used to like NASCAR more back when I was a kid, before Corn Flakes, Tide, M&M's etc were sponsering cars...after the sponsers got involved or after it become hugely popular across the country it became boring to me, or maybe I just found better things to do with my time, not sure which.

Now days the only races I watch are the Daytona 500 (except this year I didn't)...and sometimes it's nice to watch the Bristol race just because of how much bumpin' goes on and Watkin's Glen...but I hardly ever watch those races either.

I think Political Correctness killed a lot of the fun, as well as censorship, and NASCAR trying to uphold a good "image". It continues to get worse as NASCAR keeps pushing their diversity program.

A recent article hit the nail on the head:

You are exactly right I dont understand! She has been promoted as the best thing ever all through speed week and she proved that she is just a middle of the pack racer, where most wrecks happen. Her pretty face is being promoted and not her ability.

She can only drive an Indy Car I guess....I guess Jimmy Johnson's arm tuck was just a fluke...

I like her being in NASCAR but I don't see the ability yet. She has had a few decent runs in the nationwide series but she just seems to passive. I mean look at some of the other drivers who came up from the minor league through the years and hit the ground running.
Don't get me wrong I couldn't do what she does but I think she is being thrust out there as a pretty woman who can drive with hopes of doing great things. I'm sure it helps bring in a few other fans with her in NASCAR. If she can't get in together with Tony Stewart helping her she has in place in Cup.
I also think she is to old to start her career in stock cars. Alot of the really good drivers are young and have no fear and that's what it takes.

Read this and see if you still think that Danica needs to get married and have a family. Be sure and read to the bottom of the page.

This is something that sounds a lot like the male "Parker" would write.
Did you not know that Danica Patrick drove in the Indy races. She was a very good Indy driver and had good driving skills. I think Danica joined NASCAR in 2010, so she hasn't been in NASCAR that long. She didn't cause the accident that she was involved in at Daytona.

She began her career racing Go-Karts when she was ten years old and just kept moving up to more powerful vehicles. She is both a race car driver and a swimsuit model. Darrell Waltrip has won enough races that one would think he knows what he is talking about when it comes to NASCAR drivers.

    Re: Daytona 500

Darrel Waltrip should have worn a helmet during all those wrecks he was involved in. His brain is swelling and it is clouding his judgement. In 2010 Danica started 13 times in a Nationwide car with Zero wins, Top 5's or Top 10's with an average finish of 26.9. Last year she started 12 times with Zero wins, 1 Top 5 and 2 Top 10's with an average finish in 18.1 place. If she is the "Face" of NASCAR it is only because she is prettier than the rest of the drivers, NOT because of her on track performance.

To all, if you want to see some real racing, ditch indy cars and ditch NASCAR, and look to the dirt ovals for the winged warriors. That is true real man racing.

    Re: Daytona 500

One of the most fun races I have been to was several years ago. We were visiting my sister-in-law in New Jersey and her husband took me to a dirt track somewhere in Pennsylvania to see the World of Outlaws. I had seen them on TV several times, but tv didn't do those guys justice. Easily some of the best racing I have ever seen.
