Somebody Please Explain WHY?

I thought all this crap was settled years ago. I don't understand why another civil rights march NOW--from Montgomery, AL to Selma, AL. It's not commemorative. What bothers me most about it is that I've been seeing signs of another racial uprising and this is just the beginning. I heard that this will be spreading nationwide after this march. What do these people want that they don't already have?

Well my belief is its a move by Al Sharpton to stay relevant. He has a TV show that stinks! He is trying to inject the poor black sympathy card for Obuma and he bid to be re-elected.
The ironic thing is that Obuma has increased the racial divide not united it. I find that very very ironic and it will never be addressed/embraced by the main stream media.
If Al Shapton wants some equality and help in removing a level of segregation then stop trying to be so segregated!! BET, Black History Month, Black Caucus, NAACP, Black Miss America and on and on.....Start by practing what you preach!
Al is just another loud mouthed self appointed speaker for a race of folks who have been duped by the Democrats.
I mean it's 2012 for goodness sake! Who doesnt have access to photo ID? Geez...

they're just reenacting a march that took place 50+ years ago, that helped all people to be treated more equal. it's something for everyone to be thankful for. it don't make sense to me to retrace the footsteps of a past march, anymore than it does for a field of grown men to get dressed up and reenact a battle that was fought 100+ years ago where thousands were killed. but if reenacting the fight or march makes them feel good, then more power to them.

This is not a "re-enactment" of the civil rights march led by Martin Luther King. The article clearly states that it is to REPEAL Alabama's voter identification and strict immigration laws. The reason they are walking the same path MLK walked, which is US Hwy 80, is because that is the ONLY highway leading from Montgomery to Selma. There may be some little pig trail roads leading to Selma but not the main highway. I think the title of the article is misleading.

By the way, I drove Hwy 80 numerous times going home to see my mother. My husband was working at the GE-Lexan Plant and we lived in Montgomery at the time.
