Just need to know if the lake is muddy and full of debris? any info appreciated!!!
Looks to me like we will be getting the ball rolling a little quicker this year than usual........Tville has been fishing a little better over the last couple of years it seems. People always biotch and moan over how the lake fishes and if you take the time to try and figure it out it can be alot of fun, There are plenty of every species to be had. ....Jrod
I have tried and tied and tried over the years to figure it out. I've been all over that lake and I think I've had maybe 4 out of 60+ days that were decent fishing days. I've given up hope. With 2 kids its rare to even get a chance to go, but I'd love to take someone out with me who has figured it out (any species will do).
I fished it for a few hours after work on Friday. Cought 25 all about 12 to 14 inches except one 4 pounder. Water color was good temp. Was 67 to 69 degrees was catching them on a shad color crankbait. Missed couple on a worm nothing on a spinnerbait. Hope this helps ya out some.
I went yesterday to try and find the hybrids and whites up in the Salt River. Went past the bridge. Water was very muddy up there and colder at 64 degrees. Fished it a little and gave up on that pretty quick. Ran back down around the state park and Ashes looking for crappie and got frustrated as I apparently am no good at fishing minnows around timber...
Will probably try to get out to Taylorsville next weekend. Thanks for the reports....
Has anyone ever tried a jerk worm? Seems like a pink jerk worm would work with that water clarity. I know when the lake first opened we caught three over 4lbs off of redfins in one day.
Other than that will probably crank and move until my arm falls off.
I did see several bass busting shad in the backs of bays, very shallow. I tried several different things, including a jerkbait, and couldn't get a sniff. Even the A-rig wouldn't work for me.
I think I was just cursed yesterday, because I talked to a few that did quite well out there.
Salt River looked good Sunday afternoon. A few small white bass being caught on spinners. Bite was better in the rain.
Any new reports?
I went Tuesday in the evening to run the boat around and try out the Structure Scan. I did fish for about an hour. I caught a fish on almost every other cast. Granted they were between 12-14 inches but fun nevertheless. Most were pretty chuncky also. These fish were caught very shallow on a jig. Once you pulled it thru the bluegill the small bass were taking it. I too use to get frustrated with the lake and actually gave up on it for a couple years, but at $4 a gallon it might become my favorite fishing hole!!
Anyone been there today? I plan on going tomorrow morning and cant wait for 33 degree temps...its going to be fun!!!
