Exclamation Dying fish in livewell...any suggestions?

This time of yea I seem to be killing fish in my livewell. I keep the auto switch on so that it kicks on like every 15 min or so but still seem to have dead fish. I'm looking for some suggestions on what to do to fix or help this problem. I've been told about livewell treatment but don't know what the best kind to ge is or how much to use. Thanks for all the help.

How many gallons does it hold? What boat do you have?

Im not sure how many gallons it holds. It's a 93 skeeter 17.5 ft. It's got two separate ones in the back. They aren't connected

Couple of cap fulls of Hydrogen Peroxide will also Oxygenate the water. This time of year I keep my livewells on auto and recirculation, and the pump kicks on about every 4-5 min. Later on when the water warms up to the mid 80's, I'll kick it on, and leave it on manual and recirculation with an ice bottle in there to cool the water more. Protecting your fish in your livewell is a responsibility that we have to take as top priority.

Livewell additives like "please release me" or rejuvenade from BassMedic are good. They help heal any injuries the fish have and they help calm the fish and replenish their slime coatings. They also have instructions right on the bottles. Also, before you go, freeze water in some 2 liter bottles and place those in your livewell with the fish to keep the temp of the water down.

Freeze the 2 liter bottles for the initial fill up but also freeze some 20 oz bottles and put them in the cooler then as the day goes on andthe 2 liter melts you can add a 20 oz from time to time the hydrogen peroxide and livewell additives are also good suggestions

Keeping fish alive has alot to do with your boat. Personally I beleive 15min is too long. When my Triton is set on "Auto" it kicks on every 3 min for a period of 1 min. It pulls lake water in while allowing lake water to run out. I also have a 500gph pump.

I have never added ice to the livewell. Alot of times it does more harm than good. Escpecially what you dont see after a tournament. If you catch a fish in 90d water temp, then place it in 80d livewell water, yes it does fine. However when you release it back you are throwing it in 90d water and sometimes the fish goes in shock and does not recover.

In the summer when I catch a fish livewell goes to auto. Anytime the boat is on pad it goes to recirculate. Treatment, "keep alive" is added around every 2 hours. I keep the water a blueish green tent.
