Courtesy Twisted

So I'm in Walmart the other day to pickup about 20 items I needed. I head to the check out and just as I approach, a young lady in her 30's walks up at the same time, but she only has about 5 items. She says" go ahead, you were really here first." I grin and tell her, "No miss, it's fine, you have so few items, please go ahead.".

From behind me I hear a young girls voice says "See mommie, some men are still courteous". A second later I hear a lower, gravely, female voice say "No sugar, he just wants to stare at that young girls butt".

I turned and smiled to see about a 50's age women and a teenage girl in line behind me. I smiled at the lady, saw her fully loaded shopping cart, and just turned around quitely.

The next thing I heard was the gravely voice saying softly to the teenager "see what I mean, he didn't let me go in front of him".

I turned around again, and said softly to the lady, "Yes, but the good news is you are behind me, and by your own logic.......please enjoy the view".

The lady at the cash register about split a gut laughing. The lady behind me cut loose with things I haven't heard since I last had a beer with a marine, and moved over to the next check out lane.

I guess even common courtesy can be twisted out of shape.

I must be on a roll. Thursday, I went into a local bank branch that accepts gas and water bill payments. I was on that end of town and decided to take care of it instead of doing the mail in check thing.

I walked up to the counter and a very sweet looking young lady asked if she could help me. Clowning around, I held up the gas and water bill for her to see, and then asked in a fake Forrest Gump tone of voice"
"Willl youua taka my moooooney?.

She grinned and answered "Sure I will sugar, just don't expect anything in return for it".

I should have quit there. But since she seemed to be enjoying the clowning, I told her I was concerned because
"I'm really in trouble, I'm really late, and I don't want to get cut off".

She started laughing, and said "My boyfriend is in the same boat, I'm late, and he has been cut off".

I could feel my face get red. So I just handed over the cash got a receipt, said thanks, and headed for the door. I thought about the conversation as I drove up the road. I felt bad for the guy whoever he is. Even with the "juice" turned off, he can't even take a "cold" shower.

In my travels yesterday, I stopped at an Interstate Reststop to use the facilities. Just as I locked my car and headed up the sidewalk, a really nice looking young lady, probably in her mid-twenties, walked past me going to the same building. It was warm and she was wearing a halter, short-shorts and flip-flops, all of which presented a really nice view as I followed her up the walkway to the front door. She was about 15 or 20 feet ahead of me and when she got to the door she opened it, then turned and waited for me to go in, with a nice smile on her face.
I thanked her and then wondered why she thought she had to help me through the door. I'll just assume that courtesy is not really dead.

For sure not dead!! My little example of extending some courtesy to my fellow humans....I ran a 5k Warrior Dash race yesterday and we were all muddy, wet and sweaty. Men and women of all ages run this thing and I had to help several young ladies up and or over obstacles. Wouldn't you know it the best way to help a fellow warrior (young lady) through mud, water or over a wall is to boost them by pushing on their butt?? I mean it's firm and easy to grip and I even got a thank you once!! So I know they appreciated my generosity!! Hahahaha

I can vouch for courtesy not being dead. I recently ordered a CD through Amazon. It's a used CD, at a great price, but it hasn't showed up yet. But two days ago I got an email from the seller, apologizing profusely, and saying that she had received it back from the post office with the packaging damaged, and had just re-sent it. She went on to say that she probably should have emailed me before she re-sent it, to see if I still wanted it, but if I didn't, all I had to do was mark, "Refused, Return to Sender" on it, and she would gladly refund everything I had paid, including shipping. She said she's a "one-gal" operation, so the responsibility was all hers. I should get the CD Monday or Tuesday, and as long it's not damaged, I'll have no problem with accepting it (like I said, it's a GREAT price!), and since she showed me the courtesy of sending that email, I'll be glad to buy from her again, if she has something to sell I'm looking for. Like I told her in my response, I like supporting a "one-gal" enterprise over a megastore whenever possible, anyway.
