Had this been my daughter I would have went down to the school, and kicked the LIVING **** out of the vice principal.
I spanked my kids up to about 12-13 yrs old. After that, spankings simply don't work and I found much more "creative" methods of discipline.
Leaving a bruise and blistered welts, is really really close to abuse.

After reading more of the story......I'm ever MORE pissed. Evidently she's an honor student, and someone ELSE was caught cheating off of her paper. To stay an honor student, she cannot miss days of school, so she opted for the paddling instead.http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/09/24...ter-complaint/

seems this might have been the fault of mom for allowing this to happen.
"She was more humiliated and embarrassed than anything"
She seems to admit the punishment was more in line with what it was supposed to be although if the rules were broken (same gender) then somebody should be dealt with.
“I’m not after money,” she said when asked if she was considering legal action. “I’m after doing what’s right by the students.”
Whenever I hear this, I am mostly thinking the person saying it would be interested in selling you some ocean front property in Arizona.
The story says nothing about the person who actually did the copying, why is it that our system of justice ( if it fits here ) way too often seems to punish the wrong person.
The article doesn't mention the girl's father. That news story would've been about me, (probably sitting in jail) and what I did to the man who hit my daughter with a paddle.
Corporal punishment is a parental choice, but there is no place for it in the school system.
How can it be corporal punishment when it was her "privates" that got spanked?
I'm not 100% for it. I went to a catholic school for about 4 yrs, and an hour a week till late high school. I thought one time I witnessed the "rapture" it was a brother, who interrupted a conversation with a smack in the back of the head. My wife went throuh 13 yrs of catholic schools, and my children 8 yrs apiece. Only one time was my son disciplined,[by a teacher], and it continued again at home. We lived within viewing of the school, once we got a call, "do you know your son is smoking in the parking lot?' WEll he is 18 and is a senior in high school, I said, but added thank you for caring.
