South korea, that was one of the reasons there are hardly any consumer electronics built here anymore.Japan, sure they make the best cars in the world right now, in america. But for years they blocked the sales of U S autos, or taxed them out of the market.Finaly nobahma looked at the solar panel industry, that is trying to be run by the chinese and euiropean governments, and added a tariff. If solar energy is such a joke, why are those country's spending goverment billions on them to export to america. We used to be the biggest and best steel producers in the world, what happened? We decided to BUY friends instead of protecting our own.

I agree partly, I feel like we give way too much money to other countries as ' foreign aid' , why the he** are we giving pakistan anything, they clearly told us they are not our friend and we can't save the world unless we save ourselves first... I think maybe Mr. Reagan might have had the wheel when the trade unions brought up their desire to tax foriegn auto makers out of the market and he called it protectionism and if some of you old timers remember the cars and trucks made in this country, the fender might rust off the thing before you got it home from the dealership.. The 'big three' were in the same bed the oil companies are in today... Competition from the japanese was the major reason we are buying good quality vehicles today so those kinds of things cut both ways.
