I tell ya.....if we'd stop bitching about guns killing people and PUT the people BEHIND the guns in prison or a crazy hospital where they belong, we'd be MUCH BETTER OFF.

His mom, his brother, his dad, and most of his neighbors knew he was freakin crazy and dangerous. It is too **** bad that the mom had to go through 10 shitloads of ******** paperwork to have him committed. AND instead of actually getting that done, he ended up killing her and then killing 26 other people.....THEN killing himself.

Lets DEAL with the issue and stop trying to ban the tool.

    I don't understand that logic...at all.

If you are only able to shoot and kill 3-4 people with your 9-round magazine, that's OK. But if you can take your 100-round drum mag and kill about 50 that's BAD. What if you stuff your vest with 10 of the 9-round magazines and are really good at dropping a spent mag, reloading a fresh one, and continuing on (any weekend IDPA-class shooter is decent at this) - It might take a little longer, but you can still accomplish most of what you're trying to do - That's OK? You're in a school, nobody is armed or can fight back...police are a few minutes from entering the building once the first shots ring out...so some additional time reloading isn't going to hold you back that much really. What if you are like Jerry Mickulek (Google him if you don't know who I'm talking about) and can fire a 5-shot group from a Smith & Wesson .357 REVOLVER into a target the size of a playing card in .57 seconds? A few 5-round speed loaders in your jacket pocket and you have some real firepower when you are that good. But wait, it's an ugly old classic REVOLVER...it's not a big mean ugly black hollywood and video-game glorified assault rifle...so that must be OK, right?

Bottom line, in all this back and forth about types of guns and size of magazines and what purpose they were built for, everybody has ignored the real issue that needs addressing - THERE'S A MENTALLY SIDEWAYS NUTJOB THAT WANTS TO KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE.

    That's my logic...partly because I understand guns...but also because I think it's common sense.

you hit on the point, I was making. it may not be a lot of time, between changing clips. but any time helps. if a hot shot shooter like you were talking about, had a group of people hiding under tables or anything they could, the 5 seconds it took hotshot to change clips, could be enough time for a armed person under the table, to make hotshots clip change take FOREVER. and ever and ever, get my point now.

According to the news( for what thats worth) momma went to a spa for four days prior to shooting and left knot head home alone playing video games in the basement( where he always was) to plan his attack. She was trying to get him to move out.

Yep, and that is the real problem that needs to be solved, not the rest of that feel good crap that does nothing.

    no simple solution

Didn't we win WW11 with the M-1 8 round clip. and it was used in korea also. But thats besides the point.Almost all these guns used in these mass shootings were legal. But treating and detecting mental illness is a different can of worms. Not all mentally ill folks are violent. Then there are varing degrees of that illness. The kooks will target large groups for the sensational after effect[IMHO].

Yes.....taxes........Stop giving away unemployment benefits for 36 months.

Or build 1 or 2 fewer B2 bombers.

Or eliminate 1% waste across all government agencies.

LOTS of ways to pay for it.

Or remove the 47 million folks from food stamps.

Simply...we can not afford to give adequate funding to the treatment and care of the mentally ill, so....there will always be crazy people. There will also always be guns no matter what restrictions they try and place on them. So...in conclusion, there will always be crazy people with access to guns, thus there will always be terrible crimes such as this one. It is inevitable. The only way you are going to stop crazies with guns is to arm those that are vulnerable as to hope and deter and stop any potential threats. This can be accomplish two ways...let certain certified teachers pack heat, or have policeman carrying on campus during school hours.
