I'm headed down there next weekend with my wife to celebrate her birthday. I "might" pull the boat, if I think it may be worth it one day or two.

Was there last weekend, water is muddy at paris area, and they are really pulling to keep up with all the recent rains. The fishing has slowed way down on main lake, if you can find clear water in bays fishing was decent.

I had two reports this week...was not on the water myself. Both reports indicated water had a lot of color to it and bite was slow last weekend.

I arrived at Ken Lake at first light. The wind was blowing about 20mph and water was dingy. I put in my boat and started fishing. I'll say this right now. It was biting cold out that morning. All my compartments were frozen shut. I fished around the mouth of the creek for a while and caught a 15 pound drum. I decided to make a move and when I went to pull up the trolling motor it was frozen and would not budge. So I idled back to ramp and docked the boat for an hour or so to see if the sun which was just emerging might thaw it out. It did. I got back out for a while and nothing.
I had a leisurely breakfast on Friday and got back on the water after 10:00. It was dead calm out. I had to scrape ice off my vehicle first. At least the air temp was warmer than the day before. I put in and started fishing. I caught a 10" shad on second cast. Then a little later I caught a 10 pound drum. As I fished my way across the mouth of the creek I caught two nice crappie...and two more drum. I went to another area for a while but the wind was picking up all of a sudden and with my little boat I didn't want to wait to see if it died down so I went back to Ledbetter Creek. About 30 minutes later the wind died down. Go figure. Finally, during my last hour of fishing I caught three bass. Each of them went a little over two pounds. All of my fish came on a rattlebait. I was fishing it deep and slow. I tried a few other baits but nothing else worked. So I decided to just stick with what was getting bit.

You're welcome. I hope it was of some help to you if you go soon. Last year the jerkbait and A-rig worked for me but I couldn't get a bite on them this last time.
