So, I'm sitting here in my hotel room looking out across the Potomac...Washington Monument down on the left...Capital Rotunda sticking up above the skyline on the right.
I've never been to DC before. Outside of the tourist/capital/monument areas, this place is pretty much a CRAPHOLE...one of those "I might get shot there" kind of places.
Anything yall would like me to write on a sandwich board and march in front of the Capital with while I'm here?
LOL

that was really nice of you DJD, if I've read it right. instead of a word it only has little stars in one spot and I think your computer may have left out a few words. but I think I can still make out what your saying.

Don't be too quick to condemn DC, it's an awesome place. Long as you stay near the attractions it's safe as anywhere else. Go around and see some things, you can walk to between most of them. The Air and Space museum is one of the coolest places you'll ever visit, and there's all the monuments and other museums. Go to the capitol and sit in the gallery above the House or Senate floor, I chose the House and it was a great experience. So, I'm sitting here in my hotel room looking out across the Potomac...Washington Monument down on the left...Capital Rotunda sticking up above the skyline on the right.

Come on man snap out of it, you're in the capitol of the United States of America!!!
I just hope Brian knew I was joking!!! He might be putting camo on his face and getting his Rambo gear on by now!!kidding of course.
In all seriousness visiting the capital is on my bucket list of things to do. I'll make it one day and from what I hear you wanna go more than once to see everything. Be safe man!!
Take the US Capitol tour and make sure to go to the old House floor. To stand where Henry Clay debated the Compromise of 1850 and the Missouri Compromise--there's a placard on the floor where his desk was--made this KY boy a little vaklempt.
Make it a priority, you won't be disappointed. Every citizen should visit DC at least once.I just hope Brian knew I was joking!!! He might be putting camo on his face and getting his Rambo gear on by now!!kidding of course.

Lets have an impeachm. ent party there. Who' s in?
The shame is that I'm here for a convention and have very little spare time. I've only got Tuesday afternoon free before an early flight back Wednesday morning.
I want to make it to the Capital Building and a few of the monuments. The museums and longer time commitments will have to wait until next time...
On my only trip there, a person was shot out on the sidewalk across from where we were staying. We saw them lying there bleeding.
Now granted I was staying in a not so nice part of town as we were on a mission trip. But still.
