We do have moochers, how do we determine who are moochers and who are truly needy, I agree we need to but causing more hunger just don't seem the answer to me.... Kids from 5 different fathers, yes, you have any answers? Starving the kids doesn't look like it would fix that problem.
To me the first step is changing the way we do it. Start with the county, city or state level. Insure that illegals don't get anything and if they are illegal then deal with that law breaker. Don't continue to give unemployment bennies like we have. Plenty of jobs out there if your desperate enough but if you make it easy to sit on the couch and do nothing then what's the incentive??? You keep saying starving kids...why? That's the same tactic used to force obamacare down our throats. All they talked about was people not getting healthcare when in fact many were getting it for free anyway and again I go back to illegals. The system enables them to have babies here for next to zero out of pocket.
So to try and fix one aspect of the problem let's fix the border/ illegals problem. If amnesty has to be given then set a target date. If your an illegal after that your going home. Tax these folks and make them part of the tax paying society...if they are gonna benefit from our tax structure then pay your dang way.
I would be happy seeing across the board cuts in several programs that just give money away. Look at the free Obama phones. Why??? Since when did having a phone become such a right? Ax that program. You don't have a phone?? Get a job. You don't have transportation? Ride the bus, call a friend, get a family member to take you...not my problem. We already support public transportation.
Look at how many folks get gubment assistance and tell me it's not a problem that needs some hard decisions made in order to fix it. How about these idiot elected officials get this problem economy turned around?? That's another good place to start. You see it's not my job to fix this and I didn't cause it but I'm dang sure funding it and I don't like it. The people who caused it and who continue to feed the charity train are in office. In no way shape or form will anyone fix this with one attempt. The problem is it's almost to big to handle with a direct approach which is why I said fix the economy, grant amnesty to illegals, fix the borders, control the money leaving at the state level and actually enforce laws against illegals who mooch off the system.
That's just a few ideas and not once did I say starve the kids. Show me where kids with parents are starving in Kentucky and more than likely I'll show you some abuse of the welfare system or drugs....all I'm saying is it's not a problem that I know of.

Homeless - If homeless and crazy, institutionalize them. We used to do JUST that. Most homeless are crazy.

Yes, we did do this in the past and I'm not sure why we got away from that...I agree

Veterans - If homeless and suffering ANY of the various war related ailments, GET THEM HELP. It is unreal that we'd give an able bodied baby momma with 15 kids from 10 different fathers THOUSANDS of dollars/month, but cannot take care of our veterans.

Again I agree, we do need to do a better job caring for our vets.

Moochers - Identify them, and KICK them off the roles. When they commit a crime, put them away for a long time. If they are Illegal, which a crap ton are..........SEND THEM HOME.

Again I agree... It seems I remember the powers that be whining about it costing more to police the welfare system than to just write them a check, I can't believe thats true, I think in the long run the system would work better.

Kids from 5 different fathers - As above, that is tough. TAKE the kids, put them in a home (probably better off anyways), and KICK MOMMA on the streets. When she prostitutes herself or whatever else, lock her up.

We tried orphanages in the past and I'm not sure they worked very well, don't have a problem with moving mama out in the street to fend for herself if she is able to do so as long as the kids she has are cared for, don't have a problem with locking her up if she is breaking our laws.

5 different deadbeat fathers.........WORK programs. Government work programs working on the worse jobs known to man. Don't TAKE jobs that folks will actually work.......rather use the jobs even a Mexican immigrant won't do.

Yes, we should do a better job of dealing with deadbeat fathers.

Oh, and change our prison system so that when you're in prison it FEELS like prison. Way too many criminals have no problem doing time. You know maybe our prisons need to get a serious UN rep for human rights violations. Maybe that would send a message that YOU REALLY don't want to be in prison in the United States.

Again I agree, I don't personally care if someone breaks our laws and as a result go to a prison where it is a bit uncomfortable.

All these things would very likely cost more in tax dollars than we are spending now to deal with them so I'm not sure we would be helping ourselves as far as taxes are concerned but other than the cost these are good suggestions.

One I always thought would work. Charge the parents of illegitmate children with child abuse and or non-support.

Don't know about the illegitimate part as that might be getting into a moral issue but non-support does seem like it might be a form of child abuse.
