I thought Tennessee requires a SS number? A couple of years ago I got one from there and I remember having to use my SS number. Are they asking for both? Maybe they mean to be asking for SS number and some goofball messed up the wording.
Good luck

They are asking for either...Or. I will NOT give my SS# to a website, that will NEVER happen.
I agree, I hate doing it also. Here in Kentucky they require your SS number so there really is not much choice if you want a fishing or hunting license. I figure though that on a secure government site it is likely as safe as it is already at places like banks, IRS etc. Or at least I try and tell myself that![]()
I believe Kentucky requires the SS number because they weed out dead beat dad's this way. You don't pay your child support you don't hunt or fish.
That is what I heard also. It still kind of irks me that the rest of us are forced to put ourselves at higher risk of identity theft because of the actions of others.
I don't worry a lot about identity theft. I had my identity stolen once and two weeks later the guy called me complaining because his credit score dropped 70 points.
In all honesty, I would worry more about buying my license at the sporting goods store than I would giving my SS out online to a government web site like the TWRA.
I got my Tenn. license oline last year without any problems!Hope to getter done this year as well.............
You don't pay child support you don't hunt or fish legally...there is a difference. What makes a person who is a dead beat want to pay for a simple license anyway? I guess it caught a few?? I hate that it imposes on us who either pay their share or don't have a dog in that fight.
Alerted report sent....![]()
I actually did laugh out loud...but I tend to talk to myself a bit these days too. Keeps me company. LOL I'm not doing both sides of the conversation yet which is good. Its mostly directed at things like rusty screws and lawnmowers and boats that won't start. They apparently all have the same name.I don't worry a lot about identity theft.
