anyone naive enough to believe that Social Security will be anything more substantial than occasional lunch money really has their head in the sand.

SS is one source, of my retirement. and I could have gotten it a year earlier, but old trickle down said, we all needed to wait another year.

I don't eat much for lunch. I'm just aware of the fact that the amount of benefit from Social Security is likely to keep declining all the time - eligibility later, less money paid out, etc. I figure if I don't count on it at all, whatever pitiful small amount comes my way will just be a bonus. Maybe I'll just give it to charity.
