Just so that we are clear on the first amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

That means the gov't cannot infringe on your freedom of speach. As far as I know, fishin.com is not associated with any gov't agency. It is a private entity and will remove posts that are deemed inappropriate. That has nothing to do with first amendment rights.

With regard to your posts, I really do not care what your political viewpoints are. If you can post in a respectable manner, and respond to other users on the forum in a respectable manner, your posts will not be edited. You have had a real bad habit of name calling and making derogatory posts aimed at anyone who does not share your narrow view point. If you make controversial posts you can expect others here to call you on it. Respond in a respectable manner and we will not have any issues. You can also expect that folks you have berated in the past will have a low tolerance for the crap that you sling at them and the garbage that you cut and paste from far right wing sites. You can expect to be called on that from time to time.

As I said to you privately, if you (or anyone else for that matter) have a problem with how I moderate the forum, contact Peter. He is the site owner and sets the rules that I try to follow.

Losing 1 percent a year over a possible 24 years in retirement means a 24% overall reduction in retirement ..ie, if you go in the military at 18 and retire after 20 years, the new law reduces your retirement COLA until you reach age 62 (24 years). If the COLA is say, 1.5 % for any given year...you would only get .5% COLA raise. Added up over 24 years this effectively reduces the retirement you were promised by 24%. Seems to me with all the money we hand out for free to folks that won't work or give other countries, we could find a way to reward our veterans and not take away from them. By the way....not many folks get 30,000 a year in military retirement...I wish I did and I was in for 26 years.

My whole point is the current administration seems to have priorities completely backwards,they are advertising in Mexico for Illegal Immigrants to come here and receive welfare and foodstamps ,meanwhile they keep picking away at our Military.

I hope none of you are fooled by Chris Christie in New Jersey, he is in office as a Republican aiming to make a run at the White House,but he is not a Conservative by any means, they have passed strict Anti-Gun Laws in New Jersey,he just signed a Bill a few days ago to give Illegal Immigrants Free Tuition at any State University. This crap sickens me to know end,the Obamacare they forced down our throats gives free healthcare to Illegals,why should American Taxpayers be forced to "Give" anything to people who start off breaking our Laws?

The cuts are not just in monthly retirement pay Geo,they are cutting other benefits as well,especially in medical care,this doesn't list the whole story I read the other day,but gives an idea of what I'm talking about

Point taken......I was only talking about the COLA.

If it was up to me..........we'd NEVER cut benefits to our fighting men and women. But as I had this discussion with a co worker a few days ago, where does the benefits for our fighting men/women stop. What about Frontline FBI, what about Frontline DEA, what about firemen and police.

So I adjusted my thought a little. ANYONE who puts themselves in harms way for society should be effectively compensated and taken care of for the risks they take for the betterment of our society.
