I used it for years in an old in-line six Mercury. Kept it running good.

    Haven't ran it before but,
Seafoam was recommended to me by Brucato High Performance. They told me to run some every other tank. I had them clean and adjust my injectors last month. They said it would help keep injectors clean and engine carbon down. They're a very knowledgable outfit and not their first rodeo.

You can also use it to de-carbon your motor. You mix a bottle of it with a gallon of gas, run that through the motor for 15 minutes, let it sit 15 minutes, run it again for 15 minutes...until the gallon is gone. A warning though, your motor will smoke like crazy though. You can also spray Sea Foam Deep Creep into the air intake while doing the above procedure if you want to clean up your intake as well. If you do both at the same time it will smoke to the point where it will look like something major is on fire to the neighbors.

Yeah ... and don't do it in the driveway (w/flush muffs) or you'll have all that carbon/crud to clean up, afterwards !!! And PLEASE don't do it at your local lake, either !!

I have used it for several years in my motor. The thing I like about Seafom is it will do multiple things. It is a fuel stabilizer so it helps prolong the amount of time before fuel will break down/phase separate. It also will clean the fuel system/injectors/carburetors. The best part is it also cleans carbon. Most fuel treatments do what Seafoam will do but the lack carbon cleaners.

To do a through cleaning you can mix an entire can in a portable six gallon gas tank. Then hook it to your existing fuel line and let it run on a water hose for 15-20 minutes at idle. Shut the motor off and let it sit overnight and then take it to the lake the next day. Fire up the motor and let it idle for a few minutes then get on plane and vary the RPM's from low to wide open until you run the portable can empty. Somebody explained a method similar above and I suppose it works too.

Once you have your motor clean of carbon you can run what is called a maintenance dose...I can't remember the size of the can. I am thinking 12 oz or possibly 16 oz. I remember the can said you can mix the entire can in 28 gallons of fuel. I typically buy 10 gallons of fuel and pour in 1/2 of the can. My maintenance dose is a little higher. I use the entire can for 20 gallons of fuel...not all the time but most of the time.

Kind of off the topic but...one of the best ways to prevent carbon build up is to run a 100% synthetic oil. I prefer Amsoil HP Injector oil. It's about $35 dollars a gallon. A cheaper alternative is Pensoil Marine 100% synthetic. I have seen it for $20-25 a gallon at Wal-Mart. Bass Pro will sometimes run it on sale at a decent price.

Use sea foam if you are having injector or carbon issues.

It will also treat ehtanol gas but it is more expensive to treat gas with it than treating with Star Tron. Star Tron is great for treating gas.

Thanks for all the help. My 2 stroke is getting a little hard to start when cold and hope this may help some before I do more drastic measures.

Fair warning, if you mix it heavy to decarb, youll probably foul your plugs. I change plugs twice a year so i usually run some through right before im about to put new plugs in. Running a can of decarb through your air intake will foul them as well so its a good idea to do it at the same time. Youll be amazed at the black crud that will come out of your motor. Not sure what motor you have can clean your O2 sensor as well if shes running a little rough. Again youre cleaning built up carbon

Check the choke and the thermostat if the Sea Foam

If Sea foam doesn't cure the starting problem check the Choke and also check to make sure that the thermostat is not stuck open or closed. Of course you can take the spark plugs out and clean them with a wire brush or some sand paper or a metal file and sea foam. Soak them in Sea Foam for a few hours and then clean the crud off them. Or else just buy some news spark plugs.

Sea foam will clean out the carb or fuel injection ports and then new spark plugs should ensure a good spark.
