Bluegrass was Ice Free Wednesday Afternoon

I drove over to Bluegrass and saw that it was ice free. The only ice I could see was small ice around the stickups near the shoreline. Now if the air temperature drops down water on the ramp could still freeze and making launching hazardous but the main lakes and ponds all have open water now. This is as of Wednesday afternoon.

So if you can brave the cold then go for it. I saw were some were catching some bass out there using jigs.

I was the first person to break thur the ice last sat feb 22, half the lake was still frozen at the time, caught 3 with one of them was close to 5lbs,went this past sat and had 7 biggest was over 4. water temp was 38 to 40. if you guys want to know what bait I was using have to go to American legacy. ask what does paul throw out at blue and Brian can tell you.
