Do you or anyone know if the ramp is still open?

I went to beaver Lake this evening a couple hours before dark. I was trying for the bluegill and redear, and I caught a few of each. There were several people there who said that they were there because of the information on the internet, but the problem is this. The shop/ marina has been shut down, until further notice, and all the camping ,and picnic tables ,and all of the rental boats are gone. Also the portable pottys are gone, and a game warden said that it could get worse before it got better. many people were disappointed because of this, which is sad, but you can still go there and fish.I had a good time fishing the dock, and it's still early, but these fish are close to spawn mode.

Yes the ramp was open, and the five dollar launch fee box was gone LOL, there was a Pond Hoppers tourney going on .
I talked to the owner earlier this year and he said he wouldn't be opening any time soon. The ramp is still open. I don't understand what the game warden meant by get worse though. What does the marina being closed have to do with the fishing? Other than you won't be able to buy bait there.
I would say with no one there to police the grounds and keep thing inline it will get pretty bad.
The lake is owned by KDFW, the ramp and dock is owned by the Anderson Co. Sportsmans Club, and Ricky only leased and ran the dock. It was his second job and after paying the lease he made very little money.
Yea that's the same thing Rick told me. He wasn't down there much last summer either and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary going on. We've had a house on Beaver for 20 years, I spend a lot of time on beaver. I don't think him not being there will change much. The game wardens will still be there regularly.
Story I heard was that the guy leasing the dock sold all the rental boats in the middle of night and split and hasn't been seen since and that there is pending legal action going on. Sad. That should be a productive rental business for the right person.
If I'm wrong I'd like to hear the details of the real story, but best I can tell nobody can say where all the rental boats went.
Been going there since the 60's myself, my dad and I used to go with a truck camper and a 7.5 and trolling motor and rent a row boat. Caught a lot of nice stringers back when you could get 10 bass each. Folks knew how to be courteous back then. Lots of thugs and ignorant boaters now.
Hope the state and anderson co. can figure out how to run it right.
BTW fished the pond hoppers, it was tough conditions blue bird skies but big fish went over 6 and was released right next to the dock. There were some nice fish caught, most were in the weeds. Everyone was very courteous at the ramp and the dock and ramp are in good shape. If we can all act civil I think it will be a great year to fish beaver. The weeds aren't as bad as they have been the last couple of times I went, and the ramp is in excellent shape. I think everyone bitching about wanting it to be any HP idle only wake has really hurt the place, but groups like pond hoppers and the kayak fishing bunch are on the right path. They deserve their places. We were in a 14' boat with a 9.9 johnson, far from the fastest boat on the lake (Saw a guy trolling with a 25 right next to us) but we could get from one end of the lake to the other in less than 20 minutes what more do you need?
Beaver is a gem, we need to do what we can to preserve it. Shame you can't go rent a row boat right now, hope they resolve that. As close to frankfort as it is surely someone will step to the plate to make it right.
I hope they will manage to keep the ramp open.
I fully understand how running a small dock / rental could be a hard way to make minimum wage.
I just saw were the sportsman club lease has run out and kdfw are not going to release it to them, but they (kdfw) are going to take it back over and redue the ramp and parking lot and keep it as a no ramp fee lake.
