I have a truck stop and a BP both by my house. On Thursday their gas jumped from $2.07 to $2.29

Yea I have seen it as low as $1.75 at SAMs. That's an awesome savings. Imagine how this impacts a small company like ours who pays for about 13 vehicles fuel and maintenance. This is a nice break for us. Some companies I work with spend 10k a month for fuel. The present prices has done them a huge favor as well.

We moved to 4 cylinder vehicles a few years ago. We could use a few full sized vans but decided against it. Now large parts and pieces for a job are either drop shipped, customer comes and gets it or we take it out by pulling a trailer.

We don't bank on this fuel price break lasting but will enjoy it while it lasts. Lowered gas prices are a great way for people to feel the burden lifted. I would say even more than we have seen in the last 6 years. Most people are a step away from disaster since they live paycheck to paycheck this immediate relief means more money in their pocket. If these prices could stay for a few years people will spend more money than they have and the economy will show the rise in customer confidence.

I'm not a sucker so I won't go out and buy that bigger truck or bigger boat just because prices are decent but sadly there are those that will do that. If and that's a huge word "if" ......the people would take some of the new found cash and save it for a while then they could have a stash for a rainy day.

Speaking for a company of less than 20 employees...no way. We have absorbed added costs for all those years and make about 4k-5K a year on the surcharge we added...we call it a trip charge that gets added for service calls. The further away from fayette county you are the more you get charged and it maxxes out at $50. The added cost of tires, oil changes, wire we purchase, material we purchase from our suppliers, shipping, energy costs and on and on have made the cost of doing business go up. Health insurance has gone up 75% as well. If that keeps going up, and it will, we will add another charge to offset that or raise our "burden/overhead" cost.

I.... like most on this site know that if a company has to pay more to stay in business they will charge more to the end user and that means you and me. This is and has been my biggest complaint about gubment interference on Healthcare, minimum wage and other intrusive policies. They don't care what happens to the middle class and they pretend they are doing something good but in the end that hurts the middle class. It's crazy that some people don't get it!!! The most basic way I can say this is that in order for the gubment to give someone money they have to take it from someone else and that person will do the same to the next until the buck stops and that buck stops at the consumer....period.

I see it like this....its like a big wave sometimes your on top, sometimes your cruising on the wave and all is good and sometimes it crashes down on you. All three phases will happen given time so you find a happy middle ground and ride the wave. geez.....I miss the beach! hahahahaha

Russia has flooded the market with crude and now the Saudi's are a freak out session and are lowering the price per barrel at an insane rate to promote American companies from furthering our domestic oil here.
