Those ARABS might have picked a fight they cannot win.......

According to this article, US companies can sustain 40 dollar/barrel prices for at least 6 months. AT 40 a barrel, all those ARAB countries are losing about 2/3 of their revenue. Maybe they will start drinking the ****........

    I actually LOVE IT......

24 month Oil Futures have dropped about 10 dollars from when I first posted this to the thread.

Futures don't always tell the story, but it is a good indicator. These are probably within 10-20% of the real price, because if they were not, people would be losing a CRAP TON of money on those contracts.

They will never know the pleasure of having gas so cheap that you can fill up the tank with about $2 and drive around the circuit all night long and maybe again the next weekend. Unless the new technology takes off.

The Saudi's are also killing the Russian Economy too. Russia was building up it's armed forces by selling oil on the world market and making huge profits when oil was 100 dollars a barrel.

But even now most people should understand that oil won't last forever even if we blow up the entire underground. There is only so much to be had and once it's gone it won't be coming back any time soon. So get it while you can and enjoy these <$2 a barrel prices. They won't last forever.

I'm not sure who's setting the price of gasoline but I know for sure that someone is. That can be the only reason that gas prices go up and down all at the same time at most all the gas stations on the same day.

I knew the manager/ gas attendant at the local swifty real well, she told me she drives around two or three times a day checking prices. If they go up she goes up and tries to stay just under everyone else. They changed the price so often the numbers got to where they wouldn't stay in the sign. Notice all the digital signs these days.

Oil will last a whole lot longer than we've been lead to believe.

Peak Oil you remember that ********. That was the Global Warming Joke of the 80's. We are no where close to peak oil, and billion up billions of barrels of reserves are found every year.

Yea, blow it out your ass.

I fly on commercial airlines fairly often for various reason. I haven't noticed a significant change in the price of flights lately. In the last quarter all of the majors enjoyed higher operating margins which directly correlates with the lower cost of fuel. The executives say they are cautious about lowering ticket prices because the cost of jet-a is always in flux. I call bull**** and say they are stalling as long as they can in order to line their pockets as much as possible. In the mean time my flights to Vegas are costing more which means I can't drink, eat at the buffets or sit at the blackjack tables as much as I want to. Grrrrr.

They are taking MUCH needed profits. Lets not forget, that most airlines went out of business due to 9/11 and the economy puking in 2006. I think they should be able to take some revenues. HOpefully they will upgrade/update services.

I have all the NY'ers coming to my town since Edison has the cheapest gas in NJ, lines are like the old oil crisis from the 70's, soon it will be odd/even to get gas, just joking on the last comment but the lines are crazy, $1.65 for regular aint bad after a summer of over $3 per gallon.

this is like old times, I have a f-150 ford with the triton V8 and it only gets 16 mpg, don't use it much other than towing my boat, so I bought a Toyota Prius Hybrid to run around in. great little car, rides and drives good, and if I keep it 70 or under it gets 49 mpg, get this with the under 2 bucks a gallon gas. I have a cousin that lives on Okeechobee lake, so I was off work a couple weeks at Christmas and took off to Okeechobee in my hybrid, round trip was 1,858 miles, ran 75 and 80 most of the way, topped the tank off at each fill up and it took 41 gallons for the round trip to Okeechobee fl for around 90 bucks. that was getting 46 mpg, I don't know where to thank Toyota or Obama or Both.

I hope it extends through the fall...........I have already decided to go 5 or 6 times in the spring, even though I thought I could not afford it. with Gas at 1/2 the price, it makes it definitely within the budget.

AND In the fall, I just might go every weekend from Laborday to Christmas.
