I read the post you put up, responding to yours about "weve always paid taxes", although seems you have ignored alot of mine.... But again, to me it's just sad that so many people can support the party of "free".... Good thing for people like you that every once in awhile a jimmy carter and an Obama will come along.... And in my opinion, thank God for all of us it only happens every 40 years or so

Maybe if a ronald reagan hadn't come along we wouldn't have an 18 T debt today...
And if Obama hadn't come along it would be 9..... All kidding aside do you remember how bad it was under Carter?
Dude...--
We are stuck with the CEO disease no matter what we do.... consolidating small company into a bigger one makes it more capable of paying a better wage....
on the street?? ... everybody can't be a company, if you don't have enough business to support yourself and your employees then maybe you need to be an employee..
Consolidating smaller companies into bigger ones makes them more capable of paying a better wage? Yeah, ok. Don't equate capability with willingness. I knew a lot of girls in high school that were CAPABLE of taking me behind the bleachers and making my dreams come true...doesn't mean they were WILLING. Big difference. As long as free will is in the equation...and let's hope to God it is...just because a big company gobbles up a smaller one doesn't mean it will pay better wages. Once again, here we go with eliminating competition, which allows most companies to increase prices. Those same folks earning your "higher wages" on the upstroke are paying more for stuff on the downstroke. Those same big companies (owned by investment firms) may also elect to ditch the old employees in favor of new ones they can pay at lower wage...thus a nice 1-2 punch of increased margins for their bottom line.
Eliminate free will, consolidate into nationalized corporations, and let the government control wages...sounds nothing like America to me.

He was probably smoking too much DOPE back then to care.........
I was in Jr high school and knew Carter was a freakin MORON. I knew it immediately when I had to raise my rates to pay for gasoline because of the embargo, mostly CAUSED by him.
You also remember ole Ronnie making a call to the Iranians on the day he took office right? Do you suppose those camel humping ragheads were a little scared about the significant and GIGANTIC ass kicking that was coming their way.
Yea, a little Ronnie right about now would have ISIS begging for forgiveness. Too bad we have the polar opposite of what I would consider a good president.

All kidding aside nothing.......if Hlleonard doesn't think that Carter, and every single one of his policies was not a complete and utter failure........well.
I wonder how he liked those 25% interest rates........but hell that too was Bush's fault.

It seems you disagree with some others on the board that to think "trickle down" is the next best thing to sliced bread... companies will pay the lowest wage they can get away with... Having said that, how many mom and pop businesses you know that pay better than food stamp wages... they don't because they can't.... companies will pay what the labor force demands or go belly up if they need employees to stay in business... Like I said before, if you are a company that pays below gov assistance wages, you are part of the problem...

I've spoke my piece in this thread already but tonight I ordered a mcdouble and large fries at McDonald's and got.........
A quarter pounder with no mustard, medium fries, and a free look at the guy with 3 lip rings that handed it to me. The first thing that immediately came to mind was man that order would've been right had he made $20 an hour.
