It's been years since I've been to Taylorsville. On my last trip the catfish jug fishermen had entire bays blocked off with their jugs.![]()

Took the boat up Friday for a half day with another guy and fished. I caught five and lost one with no real size and he blanked. They need to drain that mud hole and start over. Makes me really appreciate a REAL lake when I go and find some time.
Looking forward to the second trip to St Clair coming up very soon. It's a little better than Taylorsville....Lmao

What do ya'll expect from a 3000 acre lake that's fished to death ?? Not to mention that most Spring's the lake is flooded during the spawn, or being drawn down heavily at that time, giving little chance for any consistent year class recruitment.

Ha Ha I agree pappy....I'm just at work today and wanted to gripe....
I do really well at tville. But i dont fish for largemouth. Already know thats a waste of time.
I'm starting to feel the same way about nolin.
You gotta learn to love it. And yes I'm talking about bass. The series I fish in it took between7 and 16 pounds to win from the spring to the summer time. I've learned that the lake has fish in it, you just have to know how to catch em. I can't let y'all hate on ol tville too hard now! Here's some proof that there are real fish in that lake... Or maybe this was the only one!

I think the Tuesday night tourney the weights were pretty good most nights. I heard that lake was originally to double the size.
You can look on the TNT Facebook page for tourney results ... https://www.facebook.com/Tournamentfishingtaylorsville
I've fished the lake since it opened, and the Bass are no where near as big as the first few years ... back then you'd catch a 14" fish that looked like it swallowed a football and it'd weigh more than some 16" fish of today. Crappie, on the other hand, have gone from paper thin dinks to respectable avg size.
I don't fish T-ville for Bass anymore, but still seem to catch a keeper now & then ... casting Roadrunners or Crappie jigs to the timber. Used to wear the Bass out at night on cranks or plastic craws, even on full moon nights. Sometimes they'd be nosed up so close to the bank that you had to pitch the craw up on dry land and drag it into the water to get bit !! LOL !!
Wondering what this SuperMoon/Eclipse will do, if anything ?? I guess I'll find out Monday.

I've caught my share from Taylorsville and yes this year seems that it has been a bit better. One of the main reasons Taylorsville isn't what it used to be or could be is the 558 thousand tournaments it has a year. Same with Guist creek, I mean ''COME ON MAN'' it's the size of a decent creek arm at Cumberland and Guist is an over sized farm pond and they get hammered.
Not totally hating on tourneys so save it but there should be some limitations on some of these smaller lakes and everybody that wants to be truthful with themselves knows it.
Next week I head to smallmouth heaven.................all is good.![]()
