You can get on 52( Lancaster road) and turn on to Clifton rd and go to the end where the old ramp is. They don't charge a ramp fee here anymore that I'm aware off. No one maintains ramp so if the water has been up it will be muddy.

Hey guys,
I'm brand new to kayaking and fishing, but I'd like to start kayak fishing. I live near Herrington and have been out there many times on other peoples boats. They always pay a $10 boat launch fee, which seems high to start with, but completely to high for launching a 10 foot kayak...
Are there any good spots to launch kayaks on Herrington for free or very cheap? Also, are there any places to store the kayak for relatively cheap right on the lake? I have a truck to haul it, but I'd rather just leave it there.
Thanks!

@Wormin - That is about 4 miles from my house, so I'm gonna go check it out this afternoon. Thanks for letting me know about that.
@BKGooch - I'll check that out Coffeys. $5 is a lot more reasonable to me.
@David James - Thanks for the video. My father in law has a boat at that marina so I'm gonna show him the video tomorrow.
I went out there yesterday and I think I found the right place. I didn't see a ramp, but there was an old (possibly abandoned) building with this sign and honor box outside. Does this attached picture look like the right place?
It's been years sense I have been to the ramp from the road but that looks like it. If you turn right like your heading towards the trailer the bear right again it will take you to the ramp.By the look of the sign it may have new owners? Or that may be old too. I was told it was free but I put in at Braynts (6.00) and run up in the river. I only see trailer in the lot there At Cliffton on a rare occasion. I see Yaks putting in the more often.
Just drove over to have a look, the honor box has 3.00 on it so there hasn't been a 3 dollar ramp fee on Herrington in over 10 years so I would say it is ether old or the cheapest ramp fee you will find. There was 2 trucks with trailers there so it is still in full use.
