I guess like any topic anyone can pick the data they like to support their belief. So if we have zero major hurricanes next year is that also a sign of global warming? Seems to me that anything that happens is a sign anymore. Cold days, hot days, rainy days, droughts, floods and who knows what else. It's honestly become a joke as to how many things are blamed on global warming. Al Gore is a champion of this political cause.....really? That's the image of reason and responsiblility?

    Trump FEMA director said this

Hurricane Irma threatens to destroy Florida. This is much more than a cycle of up and downs in Hurricanes. This one is grad daddy of them all since we started recording hurricanes.

    I'll quote Obama.

The last two years have been the warmest on Earth in recorded history. It may be the last three years but I was being Conservative.

As the people of Florida flee for their lives and the Trump FEMA director talks about Irma damaging the USA you come up with this?

I bet right now the people who are left behind in Florida and are out of gas and or can't get out for some reason or another wish that people like you have listened to Al Gore instead of making fun of him.

It's all about averages unless you are in the path of the biggest hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean bearing down on your house.

I'm glad that not all Republicans are as hard hearted as you guys.
Katrina, Texas Hurricane and now Irma and there is another one brewing in the Atlantic right behind Irma. This is real and very dangerous. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Actually I bet your wrong. Most people don't look for excuses in such times nor do they believe in anything more than cyclical weather. They deal with tragedy and then deal with the rebuilding of their lives. Others sit back and judge and already place blame on global warming and any liberal policy that wasn't implemented. That action by liberals was predictable and I dare say far more accurate than global warming.

See what your doing? You are prophetsizing doom and gloom. You have no irrefutable proof of what will happen but you still insist your right based on what? History? Scientific data that can and will be skewed for political gain, money and power. Or just gonna be one of the people wanting to toss crap against the wall and see what sticks. What was some of Al Gores predictions that didn't come true? Didn't he have access to more scientific data than you? I mean he is Al Gore..once championed the Democrat party right? His failed predictions have to be a knock against global warming.

Ill remind you of another "gloom and doom" story from the left that had data and emotions all intertwined within the false narrative and that was Obamacare. If you disputed that bill you were heartless or ignorant. All we who opposed the bill before it was shoved into law was the absemce of facts. Fabricated facts were also a problem but hey.... that's just data skewed to gain a foothold into our lives for money, political gain and power. It's the same recipe with the left. Pump a story up and infuse it with emotion, skew any data so it helps the cause (both parties do that) and attack anyone who opposes it. Racism is another one it's the same thing over and over and it never gets a rest or better (even when it's not a problem) regardless of the new approach. Why? Because it's about money, power and political gain.

I have family down down there and they will be fine. Why? They are smart and have taken the proper precautions. It's a part of life that you sign up for when you live down there. If you feel unprepared or susceptible to destruction or hardship well it may be because you didn't do your part in being prepared? It's not global warming making your life potentially difficult it's the man in the mirror. Maybe he didn't prepare his family, house, car, yard...who knows but it's his doings for living there and not being prepared. I'm not hard hearted at all if anything I'm a big ass baby with my heart but I am also a man who takes responsibility however difficult it is and I demand others do the same.

    I'm my resposibility

When I get into my car, I drive my car[and to some extent the one in front or behind me]If I drive over the speed limit, I expect a ticket. when I fished I always wore my PFD, because I didn't plan on swimming.Yes I leave a carbon foot print, I'm willing to pay the consequence some day[ I'll also leave a cloud of smoke soon] I am insured for my health, and car, if you hit me and are uninsured, I'll try to have you jailed, and then sue the crap out of you.I pay a premium on health insurance because I smoke, Does it cause cancer? All my family used to or still smoke, and none of them had cancer of the lungs, so I can equate that with fake news.I don't give a ratzazz about global warming, its going to occur with or with out me.

    Insurance

About 8 yerars ago we had a hail storm with baseball sized hail. We had windows broken siding damaged, one car totaled, and my ruck had 3700 dollar damage. I didn't need FEMA, my home owners and auto insurance paid most of it.If some of these people had the opurtunity to have flood insurance, and didn't TS eat the bill yourself, it was your choice.

I agree with you. I get a ticket once every 7-10 years and when I get one I figure what took you so long? I speed all the time so I'll live with those odds.
i am a responsible outdoorsman. I don't litter and I pick my fair share of garbage up when I'm out. I dispose of waste properly and don't do anything crazy like tossing oil or unused batteries in the woods. I have a digital t-stat for the house and I'm just not a wasteful person with energy. I do what the average or above average American does that's responsible.

    I feel for you

These guys are not going to believe anything about climate change, you're talking to stones! I know you are concerned about the future, but what is there that YOU can do? You're a voice crying out in the wilderness. You are an army of one, what ever you attempt to do, there will be at two or three will counter your actions.I think you're probably up in the years, just sit back and go with the flow. One of the leading spokesmen for disregarding whats happening, is their hero limbaugh, who up till the time he boarded the plane kept saying this is a "mediahoax"So when the critics don't believe what they screech, what chance do you have to change anything. But remember this, more folks believe that man is changing the envireoment, . Of course they are ALL dumbass tree hugging liberals, but there are more of them, and more coming every day.

Rush isn't my hero I can promise you. I also do not watch fox and actually listen to NPR and watch a few news stories from CNN than any other network.

NPR can be soooo liberal it's sickening but I listen to it to try and understand why/how the left is full of so much hate or lies based on opinions. You have to be a dimwit not to see the slanted hate from the left to anything conservative. Conservatives hated obama but no one has ever taken the hate game to this unprecedented level. It clearly shows the immaturity of many on the left....spoiled little brats that cry and stomp when their opinions are not swallowed hook, line and sinker.

Your right you can't change people's beliefs but you can tolerate them. The difference in most instances with the left and their causes is that it's all about needing more money from tax payers. Actually, it's getting hard to tell the difference between the GOP and Democrats anymore but as a conservative independent I still have my opinions and some lean left and some lean right. The Political Climate change agenda is not something I believe in but being responsible with how we treat this world is something I do believe in.

It's all just opinion. Take everything you said and change left with right and you will be right.

We are lucky to be in a safe warm place and be able to express out opinions. Some more jaded than others ---->

Meanwhile the people who live and work in South West Florida are running for their lives.

And guess what. There's another CAT 5 Hurricane stirring in the Atlantic after Irma hits Florida.

Right now one of the largest evacuations in our history is taking place in South Florida.
