They are making newer batteries that don't catch on fire

Things will really have to change if that's possible. Also makes me wonder if they'll start mining the lithium with fossil fueled equipment or battery powered?
Les. I'm talking about automobiles, not large power plants. But if you want to talk power plants then our power plant is switching from coal to natural gas and solar. Solar can supplement the NG for local electricity in the future. It may not completely replace natural gas but it will cut down on the amount of NG burned which is a good thing. As the cost of NG is going up at Vectren by a lot.

Battery technology is changing faster than you can think Les. GM would not state these things if they knew it would not work.

The fuel used to mine lithium is minimal compared to all the fuel burned by all the cars in the world. And all the mining is done in a few places where millions of gas-powered vehicles are burning gasoline all around the world. No comparison.

All I know for sure is that Obidens hero Obama said they'd bankrupt the coal business & he pretty much succeeded. Funny how the folks that live in coal country were put in such desperate financial shape, but that doesn't matter since it's only Appalachian folks that got screwed out of their lively hoods. Most city folks that voted for either one of them wouldn't begin to have a clue just how much damage those feel good useless things did & now his protege Obiden ( which he should be called since he's trying to be exactly like his hero)is going to try to do the same thing not only to coal, but the oil business too & he already screwed thousands over on the keystone pipeline project because he just had to stop everything he could possibly do that Trump done that created jobs. I know a bunch of coal miners & others that business depended on coal that lost everything they had because of Obama & Biden so piss on their useless feel good asses. I was a democrat for years & have known a lot of powerful democrats for years i don't care what anybody says there is a lot of corruption involved. When the top officials are democrat there's a lot that gets overlooked because who's going to bite the hand that feeds them? Believe me i've had a couple things go all the way to Washington by democrat freinds & they got taken care of so you tell me.

First off the Natural Gas people are the ones that put the Coal companies out of business. PERIOD. Natural gas is cleaner and most importantly CHEAPER. Thus the power companies that used to buy the coal are now switching to NG instead. The people that dug coal were already screwed out of their lives. Ever hear of Black Lung Disease? My next-door neighbor said he was glad to be working in the garbage business as he used to work in the coalfields. Imagine that. Garbage is more pleasant to work with than coal dust. I know some very powerful Republicans who take all that they can while in office. So don't just blame the Democrats for corruption. The Republicans have corrupt people too. Trump was a prime example of how corruption works in Washington DC. Trump was a con man and a crook and I hope that they get enough evidence to arrest him and put him in prison. That is how we make America Great Again. Getting rid of Trump and his cronies.

After typing up a very good reply it somehow got deleted so in short I can't stand Biden, Obama, Pelosi, Schumer or the whole bunch & also like a lot of others think Biden will be their puppet to do whatever they want done. They couldn't push Trump around & it tore them up. . I also absolutely believe that there has to be far better democrats to be in control than the current bunch& that bunch alone is why i switched parties. I know natural gas is cleaner, but did Obama not plainly say" We're going to bankrupt the coal business"? It's awful what happened to many coal miners, but the modern ones have it way better than the old school guys. It's a shame there isn't other good paying jobs in those areas, but your hero did say he'd put them out of business & did whether you agree or not. Republican in 24. lol

it was the democrats that gave you the 8 hour day, the 40-hour workweek, and overtime. It was a democrat that gave you sick leave and vacation time. And it was a democrat that gave you OSHA to enforce the cleaner work regulations so you don't get so sick and die at a young age.

And thank the Natural Gas industry not Obama for the demise of coal.

I watched Lou Doubs on Thursday night for about 30 seconds. In that short time, he managed to say the words "radical left" about three times. As Mark Cuba said, "Words have consequences". Daubs was removed from Fox Business and won't be back. They canceled his show. I doubt if Fox will be around much longer after they end up paying for their lies about Smartmatic and Dominion. And a few others are going to wish that they had kept their big fat lying mouths shut too. Points toward Sidney, Rudi, and a few others on Fox News.

Oh yeah i know the democrats gave us the 40 hour week & a lot of great work benefits etc. They also started the welfare system which happens to be the best program ever started, but it was let get out of hand like most governments programs do which is both parties fault. Don't get me wrong there have been plenty democrat votes from me, but the bunch in control now have pretty much put an end to that. At least for the forseeable future for me. I wish they all could act like adults & be bipartisan & work together to put the USA back in tip top shape like it should be.

Amen. Agree politicians need learn how to disagree in earnest while remaining professional. Civility, with strength, political party support with integrity, arguments with competing facts, and votes in our Congress based on what is best for America rather than the politician. Many are great representatives and I highly respect them. There are several that make me cringe in despair every time they speak.

Agree, with one small caveat: it's not that politicians don't *know how to disagree in earnest, respectfully yet candidly, it's that they've done the math and it's not what we voters want. Compromise is a death sentence when both sides have convinced the bulk of their base that the other side is Satan reincarnated.

I also wish that they could act better towards each other and compromise more often.

Money that actually doing their work for the people. They have to work the phones for money just to keep getting back into office. That applies only to the congressmen and women. They spend more time begging for support (money) than passing legislation. That is our system. They only spend 2 years and then have to run for office again.

I was a democrat for years..........and HATED voting for Trump..........but Trump's basic ideology aligns more with me than the democrats.

WE are so fractured now, I'm not sure we will ever get to good governance. It is a **** shame.

    Later,

    Geo
